  • Top 8 Most Accurate Rifles On The Market
    Navigating the world of hunting rifles isn't simple. Two questions often pop up: "What's the best rifle money can buy?" Unravelling the answer to this one can take some time.
    The second question is more straightforward: "Which is the most accurate rifle?" I've spent years testing a variety of rifles and can provide some clear answers here.

      @@johnwanck3315how many of these have you shot to back that up. Can’t speak on something you’ve never shot. I have the Browning X-Bolt MLR in 6.8 Western and it’s a sight to see and shoot. Very accurate.

    They are all great rifles....I happened to get a very good deal on a Weatherby vanguard badlands in 270win. It's a little on the heavy side, but it's very accurate, recoil is minimal.... Used it to take a moose 26/09/2023... Freezer is full.

      Agreed. I bought a x-bolt Hells canyon speed in 2019. It won't shoot worth a shit. It's at the gunsmith being rebarrelled as I write this. It will be my first and last Browning.

    I am impressed that you actually acknowledge howa 1500. Most so call experts and their top ten would never include Howard because it isn't made in the US. My old Howard been with me for about 30 years, still have that Springfield government model scope on it. Stack it up against anything today. You don't need to paint it black or tan to be tactical. At a thousand yards it doesn't matter. Hell, these experts would dye their tampons black and sell them to you as tactical bandages.

      I’ve nothing but disappointments with Christensen firearms and customer service. Remington 700 style guns don’t have locking bolts, which sucks for a hunting gun. I’ve had nothing but great accuracy and results from all of friends and my Browning guns. So…..

      @justbreathfool mine is in 6.5 CM. We have one in the 308 too, but haven't shot it for groups yet, unfortunately. I totally get your concern but have not heard anything bad at all about the twist rate of 1:11. I've read people have shot heavy bullets without issues.
      Honestly I trust tikka a ton so I wouldn't hesitate on getting one with that twist rate. Got 4 tikkas and they all shoot lights out. It will be awhile until we shoot the 308 probably, but I'll try to remember when we do to come back here and let you know.

    • @camonly849
      @camonly849 7 місяців тому

      @justbreathfool I will do my best! If you're interested in the 6.5 CM at all, you won't be disappointed. I love it.
      1:11 should be good especially since it will rotate a little over two times before it exits the barrel. If I'm not mistaken berger and maybe some other manufacturers will tell you what bullets will do well on certain twist rates.
      I actually just emailed them a few weeks ago and asked about some reloading data. I was shocked, they replied with the data and how to figure out the seat length for those bullets. It might be worth your while to email them.

    • @camonly849
      @camonly849 7 місяців тому

      @justbreathfool ya I've not seen those issues nor have had them myself. Vortex nation has a podcast on 6.5 vs .308. Not trying to sway you but they go over both calibers etc. Lot of information there.
      Most rifles just blow right through. My dad's 243 blew right through several deer. Hornady, berger, Sierra etc make great hunting ammo. You really can't go wrong with either one. 6.5 is just better at range. Less wind drift etc. They also have done penetration tests with various kinds of ammo as well. 6.5 is great imo.

    Wow, just realized I've spent over 50 years hunting with
    the wrong sort of equipment.
    My bad for not having a giant 30lb drain pipe stuck onto the end of the barrel,
    45lbs of scaffolding stuck under the front, a disgustingly ugly stock and a gigantic
    65lb beeping flashing space-observatory sitting on top of it all...
    Can't wait to trade-in my outdated sleek balanced agile
    & nifty pretty little 7 1/4 lb rifle for the proper improved/advanced modern setup now...
    What the hell was I doing thinking a light flickable iron-sighted mauser .270
    bush-rifle is an excellent deer hunting setup...
    What the hell was I thinking by sneaking in and shooting all my deer from a
    5 thru to 100 yard range...
    Thankfully this vid has shown me the error of my ways.

      @@rodread1531 The last time I went to the local hunting&fishing and browsed
      the firearm rack just couldn't believe the prices, thousands upon thousands of dollars for all these plasticy things dripping with bells,whistles and gadgets, to me big-corporate profiteering gone crazy. Cheapest were plastic-looking tikkas for $1800.. Not a wooden stock in sight except for some .22's. Asked for a packet of 6.5x55 ammo, was told $115 and would need at least a week to get them in! Thanks but no thanks... Back to reloading gear permanently now.. Browsed the scopes and accessories and nearly keeled over in shock.. Ditto with the clothing. jackets etc..
      Went home and polished my old brno 270, parker-hale and cut-down swedish
      mauser instead.. Somehow don't think the deer will notice any difference..
      LOL

      I grew up in the woods and those things worked for me too… still have a REM 700 .270 with a 1.5-5 optic and beautiful (beat up and scratched) walnut stock. Now I live in western ND, and there are very few 100 yard shots. You’re on a huge prairie with very little cover. If the wind is down and you know you group 3-4” at 500 yards is it an ethical shot? Tech does progress. The 30.06 was developed in 1906. Doesn’t it seem more ethical to use a modern cartridge that is far better, statistically, for taking lives?
      Feeding the family is the point, right? If I can afford a nice modern rig I’ll still get judged by gate-keeping hunters who’ve never left the bush. It’s fine with me but it’s not very sportsmanlike to treat fellow hunters with such disdain. Yes, prices are crazy but that’s not the issue in my opinion. Since I’ve been an adult cost of living has to have doubled, yet $30/hr. is still considered a ‘good living’. It is not. We can’t get workers in a lot of fields, because people aren’t willing to sell their bodies for a meager living. It’s time to make changes and we need the younger people being taught right, thinking clearly, and being involved in their communities. Talk like this is the same old-school mentality that stopped me from being involved. I will not perpetuate this.
      Just my 2¢. - Tony
