  • I had a small punchlist of items to do with the CAT 3306 that we rebuilt with ‪@CostexTractorParts‬ for our 977L track loader and I may have messed up big time...

Instead of changing the head on the other engine you have an easy option to fix it. Run an external oil oil feed to the rocker shaft or pedestal. Drill and tap the shaft or pedestal 1/8" npt and use a #4an fitting. I have built many different engines that have lubrication issues and I figured out ways to get more oil to places.
I have also done internal oil feed lines running through one of the oil drain back holes all the way from the head to a main oil gallery in the bottom end.

I love watching the rain and love the smell of rain too! But here in Louisiana it seems like this year it’s just too much rain and I’m going to regret saying this but we need a break from the rain for a while! My yard is like a wet sponge and by the time it starts to dry! The rain starts coming again! 🤦🏼

Not sure if you put coolant in straight away, but when we rebuild any engine, the first 500km is always on water only. Coolant is very viscous, and will find any place it can to go. Once first run is good, allow engine to cool, then do coolant.

Sorry, but that engine is sick. Either it’s out of time or fuel injection pump is messed up, there special tools to time pump to engine. The turbo doesn’t even spool up! Should have a nice whistle sound . Those engines have a sweet sound when running right. Better get it
checked out before I installing . Was the injection pump rebuilt?, Sumtin wrong

  • @tdotw77

Don't get depressed Man, atleast you realized this could be a problem now before the engine is back in the machine, running full bore out in a field in the middle of nowhere before you realize 'hey, theres no oil getting to the top end!', and cause a much bigger problem! Now if that were to happen, it would definitely make me cry cause you know its probably way worse than just changing the rocker shaft at that point! So you saved yourself a much bigger headache, and its still on the floor in you home garage - 'easy' to work on still! I hope you had a good vacation - assuming you were on vacation last week cause we didn't hear from you. I know you deserve it, and I'm sure your family loved having you all to themselves for a change away from the engine & machines in the garage. 😆 Its ok, we had a good 2+hr @kt3406e video to watch last week to help us make it through!😆 Its nice to know in the back of your head that something may not be perfect, especially when it comes to lubrication to the rockershaft\top end, then you actually witness it not working and find\fix the issue causing it so it'll be perfect now! Nice to see you back, hope this thing goes back to work pretty soon too!🤞🏻👌🏻👍🏻🛠️🔧🔩🛢️🚜🦺⚠️🚧🏗️
