Very nice Steve. Good pointers for that smooth finish. Watching this was great because I missed my Arizona Woodturners meeting yesterday (darnit!). So you just gave me a taste of home. Thanks! See you in May.
Not as of yet, but I have been invited to one of the members shops to play. Also last month I won three nice pieces of wood from the area. Local grown. They sell raffle tickets for various woods donated by members. Maybe something we might try at home. What do you think?
One of our newer members has brought pieces of wood or bowl blanks several times. To this point we haven't held separate raffles for them but just added a dollar cost and drew extra tickets. We get into a time crunch sometimes if the demo goes a little long.
Members here bring plenty of wood so the drawing is held after the demo. Six tickets for $5. Some folks lay out $20 for a nice handful. Everyone who buys tickets hang around until all the wood is gone. Probably an extra half hour or so because there is so much donated wood. Not sure the guys in Fort Wayne are that generous. It must generate a nice chunk of change for the club though...
I like the idea of having an auction after the meeting. It might also be a hook to get more to stick around and help with the clean up. I'll run it past our VP and Treasurer.
Beautiful Steve... as is all of your work!
Thank you Jim, I know you see a lot of nice work. You watching and commenting mean a lot to me.

Hi David, good to hear from you. Are you doing any turning out there?

Very nice bowl my friend!
Thank you Aleksey, and thank you for watching and commenting!
The gap between your jaws looks about right to me.
Hi Gerald, thanks for watching and commenting. Yea, they are just about where I like them.
