What gets me is A&M’s AD gives us 40 reasons they will chase a championship, and then cuts line and heads to Ohio State.

I think 3/10 is fair, but Weigman is not "banged up at times in his career". He's been injured once with a broken foot because of a porous O-Line. The talent is there. Remember, A&M is #1 in the SEC in returning talent, despite the transfers (which means the vast majority of those who left didn't play). They were ranked #2 in portal recruits. The majority of the #1 recruiting class of all time from 2022 is still on the team. They have a Top 10 roster by most rating outlets. The question is can this team learn a new system and gel fast enough. I think will take some time for it to come together in the first year. Perhaps a tough loss or two in the early part of the season, then they catch fire late in the season. Likely 9-3.

A significant number of the upcoming roster is completely new to A&M. When A&M played their bowl game in December of last year, there were only 53 players that suited up because there were a number of team members that turned pro and were not available to play and there were a number of players who left the team through the portal because of the coaching change. Stop drinking the Maroon Kool-Aide. Mike Elko has done an admirable job, on paper, of adding to the roster with portal players and high school player signings. But these new additions are all new to the program. In other words, they are big unknowns. True freshmen will not be much of a help to win ball games. Transfers are unknowns at this point and could be over rated. This is the SEC for heaven's sake, not the MAC. Get real. Unproven QB. Unproven OL. New Offense. New Defense. New Coaching Staff. New Head Coach. If Aggie can win 3 of their nonconference games and 2 or 3 of their conference games that may be good enough to end up with a 6-6 season and a bowl bid. If that happens, Mike Elko should be voted as SEC coach of the year.

Their schedule is Charmin soft outside of playing Texas, and all their toughest games are at home. I think the chances of them making the 12 team playoff are higher than most think, but they likely don't get past the semi if it happens.
🤦♂️ people greatly overestimate the talent currently at aTm.
Weak secondary, very poor OL, average WR with no game breakers, average LB room w/ the best LB being 5’10”, and a QB whose last game was on his way to looking really bad against Auburn.
