  • In this insightful video, I invite you to join me as I delve into a UX case study centred around introducing a poll/survey feature in a web project in ‪@scenesbyavalon4937‬ , that was worked on by Tanvi Sharma a student at ‪@WhiteboardFM‬ . Watch as I meticulously analyze the case study, providing constructive feedback and expert insights aimed at enhancing the candidate's design approach.
    Being a leader in the design industry, I offer a comprehensive assessment of the case study, pinpointing its strengths and suggesting pivotal improvements. You'll have the opportunity to witness firsthand how I evaluate the candidate's design thinking, user-centric approach, and execution skills.
    I encourage you to stay tuned until the end to discover whether the candidate's case study manages to impress me enough for me to consider them for an interview. This transparent review presents an invaluable learning experience for those aspiring to be UX designers, granting you a glimpse into the type of analysis that unfolds in real-world design scenarios.

    I would prefer a modal for the post option. Reason - Users clicking the post cta itself shows their motivation is to post something (be it text, photo, video, poll, etc.), therefore it's best to keep cognitive load as minimum as possible. Also, when I am motivated to make a post, I may not want to check what is the latest post by the group or on my feed, it's not related to my post, and thus not important for me to see it. According to me, it will only create distraction.
    Looking forward to receiving your thoughts and opinions on the matter.

    Hey Sapta, do you review only medium case studies or behance case studies as well?

    There is a perception out there that a case study should typically have a lot less text and something that should be scannable. Are case studies even viewed with as much detail and attention as you did here?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  Рік тому +1

      Yes, they should be scannable but at the same time they also should be detailed enough that brings the whole story out. That’s where the creativity of the the designer, or rather the storyteller, comes into the picture.

    hey, Sapta. these case study review videos have been super helpful, thank you :)
    how do you choose which case studies to review for the videos? Choosing from 60ish portfolios posted wouldn't be easy, I believe.

      I pick them up from my community. I scan through them and see if there are good things / bad tings in the case study that people can learn from. I pick based on that.

    Too much unnecessary data is being laid off with the project. And I wonder why 👀

    It's a great video of a portfolio being reviewed but I just want to put a point out there - Please don't think that Recruiting managers scan a portfolio in this depth.
    Portfolios are scanned in just 5-10 mins and the detailed walkthrough is done in the 'portfolio round' where the candidates explain things first hand.
    So please, cut down all unnecessary information in case studies and just make it consumable in under 10-15 mins.

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  Рік тому +1

      Depends on who the recruiting manager is :) I m one myself. What you are saying is valid for the folks in Talent Acquisition / HR roles.

      @@saptarshipr Okay. Just curious about what happens exactly when there are 400+ applications for a role at swiggy?
      I agree that HRs would cut that number to maybe 150 and forward to let's say you.
      Then if you're spending let's say 30 mins on each portfolio, it comes to somewhere around 75 hours.
      And these number would be much higher for a company like swiggy where applications are huge.
      Maybe I'm missing an intermediate step here. You can suggest perhaps. Thanks.
