This was right after his initial cancer diagnosis and treatment. What the hell do you expect? He was doing much better by mid-2007 when they decided to kill him off. They should have kept him on until his real life death in 2009.

Yeah… you could tell at this point, he was sitting down in all his scenes. I remember reading at the time that when the writers offered to put together a storyline that put him in a wheelchair he refused. His response was that Asa Buchanan doesn’t use a wheelchair
