  • There comes a time where you will get your opportunity. In basketball or another walk of life, it's going to be there. Some take advantage and put their preparation to work. Some don't. Some simply are not prepared. But Fred VanVleet was READY. He was a dark horse NBA Finals MVP candidate, not because of his stats, but because of how he executed, sparked the team, and hit some of the clutchest shots we've seen in years. He defended a two-time NBA MVP very well. And nobody expected it. Check out how he did it. #AttentionToDetail🔬

He was so tuff and clutch. Shout outs to him,Quinn cook, and Kyle Lowry the six feet and under team!

You could tell he worked hard. When he got elbowed in the face and forced to sub out, he didn’t seem hurt at all, just mad he had to leave the game

He is very fundamentally sound. Search for his one on one footage. Nothing extra. Simple moves. Very collected. React to defenses. Completely dominated guys taller than him.

Captain Obvious yeah I saw that one on one footage that was released 2 years ago with Jordan Poole and van fleet. He just so smooth and simple in scoring and getting to spots so quick that it just blew my mind. I’ve been watching him closely since then and he’s finally got the limelight he deserved

Basketball Basics are the best one player can know and he showed it to everyone! No need for sophisticated moves or dribbles. The easier the better.

I wish there was film from the Bucks series, because that is where he started going off and there was no stopping him by the time he got to the Finals series

  • @oshl4387

FVV, despite not being particularly tall nor athletic, really clamped down hard on Steph Curry during the finals. Definitely a Raptors X Factor and instrumental in preventing GSW's top scorer - on a banged up team - from getting too many open looks. Fred's 1 on 1 defense gave Steph some contested shots and his worst stats of the year when compared to other defenders... which is saying a lot, considering how much Steph moves and zigzags even when he doesn't have the ball. Lesser players would have had trouble keeping up. VanVleet plays with heart and - combined with his underdog undrafted story - is my favourite Raptors player.

During the season FVV sometimes forced things. There was a stretch where he was absolutely brutal. Even coming into the playoffs, there was a lot of uncertainty about the bench.

Toronto's got way more weapons than people give them credit for and they play as a team, on both ends of the floor. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them repeat.

CrazyBaller take it from a professional basketball player “ you either have it or you don’t” there’s no in between when it comes to what this video is talking about “stepping up” you either do it or don’t. You can work on it but there’s no “half stepping up”

This makes me wonder as to why people are excited for Zion Williams, when Fred Vanvleet is undrafted and won the championship. Any of the players on the draft list has the potential to make you win.
