It's like it's simultaneously trying to be the snes and genesis version at the same time but just ends up failing on all ends

There is something scary and odd about this game. Such a nostalgia.
You’d expect this version of EWJ2 to be an improvement over the previous game on the GBA, but no. This version practically shares the same issues as what the first game on the same system had, except that it takes those issues to a much worse degree. The graphics here are misaligned, even with the characters’ sprites, the controls are more broken, and the sounds are either way off or not played. Worse yet, there is a glitch that causes Jim to die easily. Yep, the crew at Majesco have really produced another turkey.

No wonder why this port iq trash, it's made by Majesco, the same who made the awful Drake from the 99 dragons.
They were made by different developers. Majesco just published those games. But Majesco is not known for high standards

The GBA Can Do Way More Than That! 🤮
It actually seems very good to me. I'm playing right now on the original card and the gameplay is very smooth and the controls are very responsive. The music and effects are also very good. I find it very funny, Earthworm Jim style.
