Well said on the intro Ben, pay for all my own gear and have no sponsored equipment and have to afford all my own stuff on a fixed income. Love the fact that you dial down the fact that you don’t need thousands of dollars of equipment in order to have fun and land some fish. The offseason is brutal here in MI, makes you want to boost your arsenal every winter lol! Can’t wait to get back on the bank this spring, it’s coming up fast!👍🏻❤️🎣
Hey Benjamin thanks for the great video I'm going to be going with tfo rod's because of the moderate taper's they have that keeps the fish pinned. Hey Benjamin I don't understand why all these rod companies are building extra fast taper's like for example the kvd rod's . I don't understand how he is not losing a lot of fish with that kind of taper . I've done a lot of homework about this subject and I truly believe that moderate taper's are much better at keeping the fish on especially when you get a big bass near the boat. And I've only found one other company that uses moderate taper's and that's falcon rods. Thanks so much for your input on tfo rod's and one more thing I'd like to mention is there prices I mean carbon fiber blank , stainless steel guides, split reel seat's you can't go wrong for 159 dollars for the tactical bass rods the tactical elite s are a little more but point being good prices. I can't tell how many rod companies I bought 300 dollar rods and I was not happy with any of them most companies put garbage components on 300 dollar rods and all your paying for is the blank . So I sold all my rods. I know I'll be happy with tfo rod's after doing this research. Thanks again bud by the way good lure building videos. God bless you and your family . Ps tight lines
Medium heavy, medium, baitcaster Medium and medium light spinning rods is about all I need. Maybe an extra heavy to punch mats in FL. That will catch Bass from one end of I-75 to the other. Sure I would love 30+ rods like a pro. Until someone sponsors me or that powerball ticket pays off it is not happening. So no all glass crankbait rods for me, yet. Now let's see what Ben thinks.
I bought a tfo rod and im on the fence about it,its a 7'3 mh tactical bass spinning rod,ive used it for carolina rigs and heavier Texas rigs but it really doesn't have any sensitivity imo and i freaken hate the stainless steel guides, ill have to try throwing some bigger swim jigs and stuff with it where i dont need to feel bottom as much
I'm using a slx med 7' cranking rod w a slx xt (12lb FL) and I'm not liking it. I feel like I'm not getting the right amount of whip to launch my baits out there.
Excellent Post. Getting ready to gear up to be more technique specific and your clear direction is greatly appreciated. Would be nice to see a TFO discount on multiple rod purchases.
Hey ben, do the tactical elite rods have any insert with the titanium guides/frames? They look like smooth polished metal, but I can't tell with 100% certainty. Thinking about giving one of those rods a run. It sounds like the actions on the spinning rods are more moderate/parabolic?
Detroit redwings fan and a Tfo fan you are the man bro
The Red Wings hoodie is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!👍🏻
Never that go penguins

I love that 756 for 3/4 swing heads and big spinnerbaits. Thanks for the recommendation last year!
Great overview. It’s so interesting to see your use and techniques compared to mine, based on water types, clarity, and species. Good stuff man!!
Thanks for the video Ben. I don't own a TFO rod, but after your review, worth a look. 🎣👍
