    I appreciate every technique drumming has, i just meant R&B and hiphop or whatever is shit including this song. Its the song i hate, but what Jimmy does i like, he even adds to what is already there. and im sure people who can pull of 32nd notes and that fast stuff are already exceeding the other techniques you think i take granted for.

    @DJthedrummer11 It was a drum video contest run by sabian and drumming ireland, you uploaded a video and people voted on the best one, it was a no contest when Jimmy showed up.

    @rhettro10 Not necessarily. When you have a crash down lower, and it's flat/tilted towards you, you(or at least i tend to) hit the bow alot, instead of the edge, compromising the crash sound, so i find it helps if you tilt it slightly away from you, so you can really come down on it and get a good crash out of it, while still having it lower.
    He may do it for a different reason, but that's why i tend to do it anyway.

    Very nice man. Usually I see guys trying to pull off a rock feel that makes the song feel way to heavy, and on the other hand, others want to chop non-stop. You have balance, only thing I would say is you look a little tense in your playing, but that's something not easy to do and eve I have trouble making myself look like I'm comfortable on camera playing!

    Beautiful job, JR! Your applications of fills were tasteful, but not over-the-top, and your timing is impeccable. I love your recording quality and your cymbal sounds! What cymbals did you use in this video, specifically? I'm also a Sabian player (for life!) and I'm interested in your choices as I am looking to expand my kit. Thanks for your great playing and your gift to the world! Happy Thanksgiving! :) - brotaku

    He's playing different styles to improve his own drumming, and he's allowed to learn to play whatever he wants. He didn't make a youtube channel especially for you and everyone else who wants a metal video, so if you don't like the fact that he's showing that he can play more than double kick and single stroke fills, then go watch someone else play metal. I'm sure there are tons.

    Nicely done Jimmy, you seem to cover all types of music unlike some morons on UA-cam. I find it funny how there is a pattern of people saying 'yo' or 'hey' at the start of there comments and being appreciative of your drumming whereas people starting their comment with 'dude' or 'man' are telling you that you either play shit or don't play the right stuff. Eitherway your still amazing and the trend doesn't count for everyone ;) ahahaha

    im not an idiot, rock doesnt lack creative, its the artists who play it. The thing is i reackon you could get a rock drummer to play r&b beats , but cant get a r&b drummer to play rock beats. and by rock i mean like metal, thrash, grind stuff.

  • @cadben
    @cadben 13 років тому

    @FooFighterFix Oh i see, sorry! My preference is to have them lower down though, easier to reach! Dave sits as low as he can, and the height of his cymbals, i don't know how he ever reached them!

    Well then you're obviously not a musician then. A real musician appreciates every genre of music and doesn't think it's shit. I may not like hip hop or rap as much as I like rock, but I still listen to it so I can be diverse in my playing.

    You're obviously not a real drummer if you don't appreciate this. If you think "rock" drumming shows talent, you are so wrong my friend. Drumming that actually shows dynamics instead of fast 16th or 32nd notes is real drumming. Check out some drummers like Aaron Spears, Chris Coleman, Ronald Bruner Jr, and Thomas Pridgen, instead of drummers like Travis Barker, Joey Jordison, and whatever other rock drummer you think is good.

    its shitty cause its super repetitive beats which can be created on computer in 5 minutes. Only decent thing about it is lyrics, and even these days what do rappers talk about? money,bitchs, hoes.
    and no metal isnt shit cause there are plenty of element which actually takes TALENT to pull of and keep altogether.
