I agree they need equipment ,some form of payment and don't forget insurance because any thing can happen to them in those murky water.

When I first heard the reporter say diver I thought it was government people 🤔 and then the reporter say the diver want compensation I was like 🤔 what kind of country is jamaica shouldn't it be government people around to do these things or what about people looking out for other people without expecting anythjng in return

They can't use a retaining wall because when the river over flows it's just going wash away . What they can use is so large boulders or big heavy rocks and puts them along side the road, forming a barrier
These divers should be paid has life guard, the government should put them on a payroll, and supply them with swim gears. These men risking their life's.

Need to replace the bridge altogether. Not sure why in the 21st century we STILL have such a small bridge and we have a foreign contractor in the of CHEC that upgrade it to a 4 lane bridge. There is nothing magical bout the Bridge. It just engineering and can be replaced as the geology of the area allows for such an upgrade!!!

The Government of Jamaica must put in place a retaining wall along flat Bridge Jamaica to prevent drivers from falling to their death in the river. The Flat Bridge in its current state is a health and safety risk and a death trap. They have a duty of care to the people using the Flat Bridge crossing and road.
What will happen when there is heavy rain fall n the river overflow its bank
It would also make a world of difference if JPS goes green so paying customers can reap the benefits of their reduced fuel cost.
Its a shame to see how these men go into that water saveing ppl life and get nothing! Not even from the familey that they save! Its a shame.

Irresponsible actions often cause these unfortunate situations...overtaking . Preventative strategies need to be taken. Assign traffic police to the area. That could have helped. Many drivers are not responsible even though they know they have the life of passengers in their hands.

No retaining wall can not build in the gorge ,the water mark presently is way up on the hill side when the river come down , that whole area is water way .

But still to stand by an not help another human being makes me extremely heartbroke..I couldn't do that, no matter, ones color race or creed, rich or poor.. because god filled me w compassion, empathy and sympathy.. selfishness is of the devil. one day you may need a diver make sure you have the money to pay someone.
