Oh wow, I didn't hear of Scott Walkers passing till now! Also did not know Gaudio and Crewe wrote this masterpiece! An absolute favorite of mine!! Gotta admit Gaudio and Crewe wrote some magic songs and Scott did a great job on this and

Amazing cover, you really made it your own which for me the best covers always are. I had never heard of the Walker Brothers, I was too young when they were together in the sixties and had never heard them on American radio. I joined the Air Force, got stationed in England where they were very definitely remembered and still played on British radio. I remember hearing this song for the first time and my jaw hit the floor, I was stunned not just by Scott's voice but also the overall arrangement and production, especially those haunting string fills after the verses. The first chance I got I went to a record store off base and bought their greatest hits CD and completely immersed myself in their music which I still do to this day. Doing research on them I found out...and it blew my mind... that they were American as I thought they were English. It really surprised me that they were like many British groups who are popular here in the states but not as popular in the UK only it was the opposite for them. I was saddened to hear of Scott's passing but his music will never die and people like yourself do so much to keep it alive. Thank you for a wonderful video and sharing it with us!!

I'm going to a Birthday party this weekend of a lady who is turning 100! Wow, I did not know that Scott passed until just now when I decided to check this page which I hadn't in a while. Music is a large part of all our lives. As we age, certain songs stick with us as part of our all-time favorites. The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore IS on my list. To me this song so perfectly exemplifies the sound of this genre in that era. I am truly bummed out. Thanks for the tribute Larry. :-)

You still play beautifully. In this song and others. In your more recent videos, I’ve noticed the years are taking their toll on your pipes. It happens. Not an admonition of your talent, , just an observation of an inevitability. It’s endemic amongst people of a certain age level. How life works. For every ten gray hairs we find, we gain important perspective - - -only to forget the gist of it, minutes later.
I wish we were all like walking bottles of a nice, red wine and we just get better with time. And in some aspect life does get better when we let it. It’s when we try to fight and defy the process when we pay a price….that we become caricatures of ourselves at a particular age. Like a bad episode of Golden Girls, Terribly dated and the leisure suits & shoulder pads prove it.
I don’t know you, but I’ve deduced we’re a few years apart based on your musical preferences, If I’m creaking a bit mentally and physically, you are, too. As long we we’re breathing, we’re going to age (and often in those ways that lack dignity) but it won’t keep us from living life ….not if we let it. You can still play beautiful music and I can still listen to it, with what hearing I’ve got left. Beauty, age,,skill, desire….the ability to pass by a mirror and not need a Xanax- -the responses be them good or bad….are in the eye of the beholder- -providing our eyesight is still fairly decent.
God gave you gifts. Please use them as long as they’re still beautifully viable , for as long as you can.
What a wonderful uplifting series of observations. However, I am not fighting or defying any process. I do what I do, and if someone dislikes it, I don’t give a shit. If you think I’m a bad episode of the Golden Girls, that’s ok with me. I think sometimes you trip over your overly flowery language... Don’t try so hard to sound smart. It shows. As you said .. just an observation..
Did you produce your voice with some reverb for this video? Or is it overdubbed with a second vocal? It sounds great.
