You have to pull it out and scan it any time you want to change the temp which kind of defeats the purpose of contactless lol. But other than that is a real nice heater so far.

Yeah, not so contacless as you need to make contact to pull it out to scan. They just start selling here and already my friend at the store told me from the first 3 they sold, 2 customer were mad at how useless it is to need to pull it out to scan every time, also complained about the temp being off.
I think sometimes trying to add technology seems great on paper but is useless.
None the less, great video review :-)😊

I wish I knew this before I bought it. *Completely pointless.*
This video is a nice advertisement for Sicce but Fluval for me is the way to go.
The non-contactless temp change actually makes this worse than less expensive basic heaters.

So to clarify after reading the instructions... In most cases you will need to remove the heater from the tank to adjust the temperature (what a pain). Quote from the manual below about this HUGE limitation.

@@CichlidBros Please read the instructions "With some Smartphone models it will be possible to activate communication
through the glass of the tank, with others it will be necessary to remove the
heater from the tank in order to bring it closer to the Smartphone" meaning that if you have it in a sump, filter area, or the back of the aquarium like most people, then you will need to remove the heater for any adjustment... pretty inconvenient and a big negative for me.

@NaturebyGus I have a Samsung S23 Ultra and it took 20 minutes of trial and error for me to connect to the heater. There's virtually no margin for error with the NFC. My phone not only had to make physical contact with the heater, but I had to remove my phone case and slowly swipe down the front of the heater so it would pass over the EXACT spot to pick up the NFC. There's also visible moisture inside the heater within minutes of it being on and submerged. Not impressed so far

The heater sits under the top frame, so very hard to pull it off since suction cups are good. Not able to use tap function until heater is out of the water. The Fix is to have a Seachem Tidal HOB filter like I have and use the side attachment for the heater that you can easily pull the heater up out of the water.

Tip, turn your heater horizontally, in the center , lower to the substrate, this way, it disperses the heat In The aquarium better, reducing wear on the heater, reduce electric bill as does not need to turn on as much, and you don’t need to unplug the heater when doing water changes .

The NFC technology on aquarium heater, BIG mistake. i purchased the heater from Petco after watching a few videos Changing the temperature to 78F, it was easy. Places it in my aquarium, the temperature is 3.5F below the setting. I know NFC maximum distance is 4 cm. Based on the Sicce video, I place the heater sensor facing to the side of the aquarium about 4 cm away. It does not work. I have to take the heater from the tank to change the setting. Is it a contactless?????? I am returning this product, it is bad design and so inconvenience..

Years ago you only had glass thermos flasks that you had to handle with great care, this is the same for ANY GLASS HEATER now you can go into any big supermarket and buy a metal thermos flask and guess what, you can literally use it as a weapon and it doesn’t break, this is just like a titanium heater they don’t break.

Changing yearly is a waste, imo. I used cheap and expensive glass heaters for decades. All do their job but I use 2 underrated heaters for big tanks in case one does fail.

To start I love other Sicce products I have Syncra pumps, Shark Pros, an Ultra zero and they are all great
I am currently working with Sicce support for the Scuba heater
I dont mind the NFC tech I plan to set it once anyway. I use my heaters with an Inkbird and just set them higher than the Inkbird ie failsafe.
I have purchased 4 300 watt versions of this heater. I have 2 in my 200g tank that has no fish yet. After 24 hours the tank went from 70 to 72 degrees. 70 is room temp.
My plan was to run 4 300s for 1200watts the limit of a Inkbird. This tank is either Peacocks or Discus I havent decided yet.
I watched the heater and it cycles on for a minute then off for a minute. Not sure why ?
No way I am I getting 600 watts. My other tank is 110g and has 2 200w Ehiem Jagers + inkbird it holds 78 no problem. ( its even open top )
The UI for energy saver mode is not clear a bad design. Pretty sure I have that off. ( on a side note energy saver is a sales gimmick. Basic thermodynamics )
I just want it to heat like a Jager So I think there is a design flaw or I have 2 bad heaters. I saw another post where someone else has this same exact cycling issue.
We will see how this works out, but currently I am very unimpressed.

I just got a response from Sicce. Scuba heaters only run half the time at most. This is NORMAL operation. So all the watt numbers posted for these are double their real output.
This is a really bad design. They have a UI we should should at a minimum be able to turn off half power mode. They can call it wimpy mode on and off
And yes I am a bit upset that I wasted $200 on these heaters. Straight to the trash. Unless I get a full refund this will the last Sicce product I ever buy!

Ugh, i really wanted to like it, totally disappointed, i purchased one yesterday for my 125 gallon. The heater tube only has one position. Where you tap with the phone, is located in the front of the unit, so if you want to modify, check current temperature, or even modify the setting you will need to pull it out of the water every time, very annoy, it will not go through the glass! i tried as well of course "detaching it" to face the tap sensor again located in the front, if you wondering what is the current temperature of your fish tank, you will have to pull it out, so where is the contactless? it might go through the glass for smaller thanks probably less thicker but you can not rotate the tube to face the glass! i tried so many ways that i get frustrated, i will return it. Same as in the video you will end up pulling it up of the tank every single time for any modification or if you are wondering the current temperature.

Again, i was very exited when i purchased, like a little kid with a new toy, it did not worked for me. I thought this "contactless" will be convenient for my setup, faster to have a different one with a temp set and current temp display attacked to the side of your tank, that will be contactless as well, set it up one time then you just look at the display for current temperature, no tapping or pulling unit out of the water, this is just my personal experience.
