Sometimes it was serious, other times we were joking, we were talking about future and past. When it was getting late, you would see city lights from the windows. I miss that.

They party is almost over, and everyone is either passed out, making out, or leaving, if not already left. Which is what you should've done in the first place. Youre sitting in a rocking chair in the corner, eith an empty cup in your hand, and puke stained on your shirt. Your trying to sleep, but you cant help but over heard your friends talking. It's what EVERYONE is talking about. Everyone is talking about their futures, their bank accounts their parents set up for them, their partners, colleges, while you... you were just figuring out what you're gonna do. You've been turned down by every college in your area, so that means you would have to go to college out of state. In other words, away from home. Everything you ever knew, you would just have to leave behind. You've thought about not even bothering with college, and just living the high road, and see where life takes you. Which you try to convince yourself you might like, but you know deep down that you wouldn't like that. And not only you wouldnt like it, but the family wouldnt as well. They'd always be talking about it at gatherings for YEARS. "Y/N needs to get their crap together, they should've just gone to college like the rest of us". You never thought that growing up would be this difficult. When we were kids, we would stay up late excited to grow up, but now we are scared. Maybe not everyone, but you definetely are. You gently slump your head against to back of the rocking chair, to all of a sudden realize that the stereo hasn't stopped playing. Then all of a sudden Mac Demarcos "My Kind of Woman" pops on. You then slowly drift off into the night, as you remember that time will keep going, and wont stop. So do your best with the time you got.
