Thank you so much for covering this! I'm building a new house and need all the info I can get. I've been eyeing a full Ubiquiti setup but if I can't find everything for purchase when I need it, I'm thinking of going with Aruba Instant On or Ruckus (really want the Wifi 6 AP's but they're super expensive). I look forward to seeing your other videos on the Instant On equipment/software!
The setting options for the 5GHz radio channel width include 20/40MHz and 20/40/80MHz, but I don't see an option to set it to 20MHz alone. Have you ever configured it to be set at 20MHz?
Very helpful! One question: can "Sites" communicate or are they always on separate networks? ARUBA Instant ON has a device limit of 25 per site. I am considering deploying this in a slightly larger network. Wondering if it would work to build it to be a different site per building... Thoughts?
Thanks I was looking at these. Prob not for me though. Is there a specific set of switches/aps you recommend for PFsense as the router/firewall? need a 10GB trunk and 24 1GB ports Cheers!
A cisco guy for the most part, but I am wanting to shift away from them for a few reason. Looked into the Aruba, the only thing I don't like is the cloud config. I want local control and cloud management IMO is a security risk and gets total control away from the owner. Its the way things are moving, but I am not a fan. Guess I'll need to go with a different vendor.....
Can you deploy a small Instant On network (say, 2 x AP22) without an instant on switch? I already have a PoE switch. I understand some functionality (like PoE scheduling) might not be available, but would I get I still be able to do VLAN stuff and have one of the APs as an wireless mesh AP?
So I’m looking into moving away from my UDM at my house and move to the new Firewalla Purple device (whenever it ships) I only need 1 AP to feed my house so would I just choose AP only and set up the wireless networks? Then assign the ports on my edge switch to be untagged/tagged on my ubiquiti edge switch? I know the UDM has a controller built in and I don’t want to have to buy a separate controller (cloud key or Omada) just for one device. Would Aruba instant on make sense for me?
Thanks for the video. In terms of pricing - if I buy multiple APs to use in a mesh system, is the controller functionality of the portal all included in the purchase price of the APs? Any ongoing subscription costs to keep using the portal?
I Have a UDM Pro and a 16 port Gen1 POE switch 1 nano & HD Pro, I am thinking of going with Aruba instant on is it worth it? If so I am thinking AP-15 & AP-22 with a 24 port POE 195W
Nice presentation. Could you make a video on how to connect 2 switched together to act as one unit via spanning tree if i am correct? Also updating even finding a new firmware for these devices seems to be a little tricky. I am about to purchase 2 switches and 3 APs but I need to have figured out the way they work since aruba instan on forum is mediocre on info. Also setting out mesh would be nice for a video presentation
Hey, i have my ap22 connectrd directly to my fritzbox which is doing the dhcp and firewall settings. Would you select the 1 or the 2 option in the first step ? Is the 2 only if i want my ap22 do the dhcp ? What would u recommend ? TY
Need more in depth for some of the features outside of VLAN IP. Like the two authentication factors and so on. And also what is your tough about Aruba? Nice video by the way.
@@MactelecomNetworks oh no worries it just that now that I understand the basics principal of VLAN to separate each assets like guest, staff, and so on is just I have never exposed to the QOR two factors before.

Which version of Aruba do you recommend for the High Density AP, with 200 client inside?
sir can you please expaline wired network type because why there is need of wired option in wireless network.
Can the access points be used with an existing router such as AT&T?
How did you mount the the AP on dry wall, in old job application? Thanks.

Hey if you dont like the Aruba stuff I would suggest getting a Unifi 24 port pro poe switch and some Nano HD access points
@@MactelecomNetworks thanks 😊 I decided against unifi due to bugs 🐛 would you suggest omada or enginius as an alternative?

I would love to see what the portal option looks like.
How to configure when any body connect wifi they have to fill name and mobile no.
Can i setup AP without internet access

Hey I did mention 2fa not sure what else I can talk about that. But I am planning on doing other videos

client isolation?
draw io is awesome
Who's here because they can't source Ubiquiti Unifi products?
