Hello Mike. I used to run a little competition called Plane Fight Club, or PFC. Using the AI from BDA I battled subscribers aircraft in a bracketed competition. I would like to give you some advice on aircraft builds.
First and most important, your fuel should always be center mass. When building balance your plane front to back keeping your fuel center mass. That way fuel drainage won't affect your flight dynamics making you flippy. This is especially important for propeller planes because of the lack of power and speed. Part of your problem was when you were trying to balance your plane you were moving the main wings with the fuel tanks attached. So you were moving your center mass and your center lift at the same time.
When building propeller driven planes weight is your enemy. Go as light as possible. Prop engines don't burn much fuel so 100 units would give you more than enough range to cover the mountain area to the west or the islands to the east depending on how light you build. I know you are limited on parts but I think you still had lighter parts you could have used.
I give you credit for listening to chat. They had some good ideas to help with your build.
For a spacer with limited parts you didn't do to bad. 😂
