You have to grind it way thinner than that, in fact in this video, despite producing the nice "crema" the coffee looks very watery. That kind of coarse grinding is good for the Moka Bialetti style or drip coffee makers. As in regular espresso makers the grinding as to be very thin. Also if you open a new Nespresso pod as a reference, you can see how thin the coffee is ground.

Then I tried a little thinner and thicker to find the one that came out more dense. it depend on the type of coffee, because they all are of a different consistency. I used Illy Intenso. So you have just to try grinding small batches of coffee to test.

I’m saving money by just buying instant coffee…you can literally make anything with it. Safeways instant coffee in a big jar is my fave. I whip the powder into a little bit of warm water with a cheap electric whisk to make it all foamy and then add more water & half n half and coffee syrups. I’m about to get rid of my nespresso - I took a break from it only to come back to it all moldy even when I left it clean.
Regular coffee making does not produce the crema that the machine creates. Nespresso coffee is also not nearly as tasty as my fav coffee. So to combine my fav coffee with the Nespresso machine to create crema I can have the best of both worlds.

I dont know about the taste, personally i find that these pod machines are average in terms of flavour. If you want good taste then invest in a decent mokka pot or go all out and buy something like a breville barista express its on another level.
Naw, it's going to be extremely weak tasting. Gotta be a very fine grind. That's drip coffee maker grind. You will only get a fraction, maybe 60% of the flavor extraction with this method. Just put your grounds in a grinder and pulse it a 5-8 seconds to get it right 👍
Listen, I’ve tried this before and let me just say that the machine is an unnecessary expense if you do this. It doesn’t make your ground coffee taste better than a French press would. If you purchase this machine is cause you’ll buy the capsules. Doing this actually causes the machine to break faster because the glue comes off when wet and causes particles of coffee to clog it and if that happens you will have wastes a couple hundred on an expensive overrated machine, and that’s coming from someone that uses the machine daily lol.

Things happen. Sometimes you’re between shipments. Most people like to order in bulk and sometimes, you need to wait a while until your pocketbook says that it’s okay to make a $100 order for coffee. This person is going to get a watery mess because the grind is much too coarse. There is no way they get a robust cup out of this. But some people aren’t as picky. I have one of these sets and used it every now and then. You will need to grind the coffee really fine and choose a nice blend. I don’t have the space for another coffee machine. I prefer a pour over cup to this method but it can be handy sometimes.

This doesn’t work. The Venturo pod spins. When you replace the top, it doesn’t let it spin. I spent 37 on Amazon for the wooden gizmo like this. When I took the lid off the one I made, it only went thru the middle coffee. All other coffee was dry. Sorry, my experience.
I prefer the Vietnamese drip metal cup that you put on top of your mug. Your going to get more flavor out of your coffee than this. That was very light.

Actually this hack allows to me try amazing espresso blends that Nespresso don’t offer….like Cuban coffee, real Italian Roman Espresso (got a couple cans from Italy), and so on! It’s a great hack if you’re picky with your blends. You just have to be careful not to get the middle needle full of grinds. Make sure it’s very finely ground and not to pack it in.
These dont make esspresso, the make something "like esspresso." You can do that with a moka pot and a cheap hand grinder, for cheaper, and not have to hack anything, and use your own coffee, and be more sustainable.
It depends on if you’re putting enough in, the grind, and if the coffee pod is brewing the right temp! It takes a bit of practice but I love creating my own blends 😋😋😋😋

If you have the Nespresso original machine with the smaller capsules you can buy supermarket pods cheaper than the Nespresso official ones.

You need to make sure aluminium foil don’t cover bar code!
The machines aren’t that smart. This means the bar code is covered or you might have grinds built up in the middle needle
