the win at battle of Dorian was one of GREATEST VICTORIES EVER for their nation and army for Bulgaria.
Sabaton is a great rabbithole, I personally love Soldier of heaven and Christmas truce. But there is so much more greatness to discover for you here. You really can't go wrong with Sabaton.

When vazof was invited to a veterans parade in England after the war the general in charge for the british at doiran ordered the regiments to lower their flags in honour the only foreigner they had done that for. "Bring down the flags! here comes general vazov the winner of doiran!" And in addition he said personally to vazov "it is a pleasure to meet the Bulgarian delegation as even though we were enemies you like us not only fought like brave men but also like gentlemen" the chairman of the british legion major goldy said in his speech "he is one of the few foreigners who's name features in our history" (this was a major defeat for the uk like gallipoli i recommend watching sabaton history channel)

I don't think I've seen anyone else reacting to Valley of Death, and it makes me smile because it's an epic song, but also because I was born in Bulgaria and a giant band like Sabaton writing a song for this specific moment in history is awesome. Very glad you liked it, I recommend En Livstid i krig, 40:1, Fields of Verdun (although I unashamedly prefer Apocalyptica'version of the last one)

I love this song too! It’s one of my favorites, and it’s a shame that it doesn’t get a lot of reaction videos.
For me the song that touches the soul the most is ‘Christmas truce’ with a spectacular ending by a guest artist.
Always chills when the piano starts and with this ending I mentioned.
Brother, this song is for one of the Greatest battles during WW1 on the Macedonian front, when the Bulgarians took a defensive positions at Doiran lake in today's Macedonia . General Vazov become famous there with his defensive knowledge.
For the White, Green and Red ( The Bulgarian National Flag colors ) many brave Men fought,many of them died. These Heroes should never be forgotten

Best thing about Sabaton (in addition to their drummer being Floor's husband 😂) is that they make you check out historical events you had never heard about before, _Attack of the Dead Men (history version)_ in particular was a horrendous true story I originally learned about from them
Attack of the Dead Men is a fantastic song! It has a "groove" and a really unique vocal cadence...read the description for the live video (lyric video has wrong words).

I love Sabaton I have learned a lot of history from them they I have never heard before like The Lady of the Dark and Night Witches. After I watch a video I go to their Sabaton History Channel to learn more. If History teachers used their songs more people would get into learning.

Sabaton has a habit of making you feel pride in the courage of other countries in battle.
Sabbaton have put in a lot of time to ensure that many of the songs are historically accurate, they employ a research team for the actual events during wars that they write about, they also have very high production values for the war videos. Their tribute to Lemmy's song 1916 is very emotional and different to the way Lemmy recorded it and pays huge homage to the great man with surviving members of Motorhead in the video, big love bro

You have a great taste in music there :D Check out "Evilon" for some swedish folk metal! I recommend the songs "Yggdrasil" and "A Warrior's Way" depending on whether you want a slower paced and more sorrowful folk tune, in which case the latest one is just that :)

Battle of Doiran during 1917 aka "The little Verdun" is the biggest military disaster in the history of the British Empire and the biggest glory in Bulgarian history! In the chaos of the Macedonian Front the 9th Pleven Division (~17 000 strong) sudenly find themselfs in front of 7 British armies (~400 000 strong)! They were send to defend Sector "Boris" wich were near the Lake Doiran. The commander was Colonel Vladimir Vazov who will leter become General after what he and his boys will achieve in that hell position! The British start the first 4 attacks without any preparations and they suffer brutal loses but our High Command and Vazov himself saw that the position is too weak and General Vladimir Vazov ordered intense fortifying work during late 1916 and early 1917 that the British didn't expect! The next 4 attacks was coupled with massive artilery bombardment but they all failed despite British took the front trench system but the Bulgarians send all reserves in insane and bloody bayonete counter attack and took it back! The last 4 attack come after 7 days and nights of bombardment uncluding the first gas attack on this Front! The whole position "Boris" were devastated, the wires cutted but the bunkers intact and when the last 8 British divisions come to the first trench again General Vazov ordered an full suprise counter attack face to face hand to hand melee that will become the most epic and glorious win in our history! In the 1930's on a Veteran meeting in London General Vazov were welcomed at the train station by Lord Mill, Generals, Officers, Members of the Parliament and the Royal Family with the words "Down the Battle Flags! The winner of Doiran is walking through!" This is the only time in the history of the British Empire where the British downed their battle flags to anyone!!! Later Lord Mill will say to General Vazov that he respected the Bulgarian Soldiers because they fought with bravery and were true gentelmens like the Brits and will finish quote "Our boys ask me and my officers on arrival in Greece what to expect up there and we told then directly - You are in Greece! In front of you is Bulgaria that we have orders to invade but between are the enemy positions! Welcome to Bulgaria Chaps! Welcome in front of the Gates of Hell"!!! Survived British major sayed quote: "Bulgarian officers do not hide behind like ours but fight in front shoulder to shoulder with their soldiers! and continue with letter to the Allied High Command quote:" Learn to die like the Bulgarians and only then you will defeat them!!!" General Vazov tactics are studied till today in every military universities around the World and they were used by the Vietnanese against USA!
