@Ava most of the Tory parliamentary party voted against gay marriage and it only passed because of Labour and the LDs. Just because the Tories have some gay men in the party does not make them the most LGBT friendly party. What an utterly awful take! In 2010 the UK was top in the index of European countries for LGBT rights. Now we are something like 15 or 16.

Guys, learn a lesson from Wales wrt onshore wind farms. The owners are obligated to put some money into the local community (Section 108), in a meeting with the local community around a million pounds was casualty dropped in to conversation. This got people very excited. The company then went to 20+ other communities surrounding the proposal, with the same line. As a result, each village had a cash bonus that would just about build a new bus stop.
It took a million pounds for a bus stop?

The thing that bothers me about the childcare subsidy is that it is only for 38 weeks a year. It matches the term time schedule for kids in school but most kids in nursery will be in it year round. It's the small print the Tories never mentioned to not actually be as generous as they are wanting to be perceived as.
The BBC are obssesed with celebrity - there hasn't been an arts programme in many years that they have not had fronted by celebs who know nothing about the subject. Goldie on dada. FFS.

While I know you guys focus on British politics, I do love when you guys talk about US politics as well. Keir Starmer’s interview with Jake Tapper was so good. He put it perfectly about how our countries are more interconnected than we think.

@@enemystand2981 Because I also enjoy the podcast, the topics and the personalities, but the audio is often poor quality. I would just stop watching, but I'd much prefer if the people making a podcast would take some time to think about their audio quality and set up.
@@GaryHoward87 I do agree. Some of it is borderline inaudible. To be fair, I've only felt the decline recently so it should be easy enough to rectify. I suspect that Reddit might be the best forum to speak out since they seem to love that for some reason. They won't be reading this I'd imagine.
Dear god, the targetted ads I'm getting on this video are insane. I've had one about panama hats and luxury men's clothing and another for "Reclaim the Media". Normally I just watch crap and get adds for Hero Wars but it's like two politics joe videos have prompted some kind of right-wing conversion process...

I am pretty sure "toomakers" spend most of their time sharpening the tools. I worked for an automated factory floor company and if a cutting tool has a 250 hour life the last 20 are way under the standard, so our system estimated remaining tool life versus planned work,
They also manufacture replacement jigs, moulds, etc.. Depending on the factory.

The BBC commissioned Uncanny which if you're interested in the paranormal is a really good podcast, but they keep trying to push podcast about celebs which is frustrating.

They have not said they will not remove the cap. They were very clear that they could not remove it without making sure the funds were available to cover it first.

I watch some of these podcasts. However, I'm not too fond of the 10 minutes or so of juvenile and unfunny prattle at the start of every recording. Like they're trying to be counter-cultural comedians or grungey university students. It's irritating!

Why are people against private jets? Having flown in them whilst working for telecoms companies in the Middle East and Caribbean, the time saved not having to go through passenger terminals at each end of a flight is the main advantage, even for 'non-celebrities' like myself.
They are not a patch on Emirates A380 Biz Class where you can drink the entire flight with a bunch of strangers. #goodolddays

I've watched a bunch of these podcasts and they can be quite good but my god, Ava really is a mean person to Ed. She masks so many comments with a jokey facade but it's really horrible to see a nice, wholesome journalist constantly being put down by a bullying coworker. I hope it's an act she puts on for the sake of the podcast, and not how she genuinly interacts with him on a daily basis. Unsubscribed
