I already expected it to be underwhelming but i had a small hope that it eas actually well made this time... Meh. I wonder why people don't try to make something that ACTUALLY looks 1:1 like the windows 11 UI when they write these projects.
I don't really think it's that practical to create an actual OS with React. The GUI yes (with typescript), but the backend (imagine calculations, state, CLI, task manager etc are the backend) should be based on a statically typed, fast and also memory safe language like Rust. There just has to be a language separation here because Javascript is not fast enough to deal with OS performance issues. Just my thoughts.
@@luznoceda423 yes I know it's just a fun project and no OS runs on browsers. My comment is for those who want to build software projects with frameworks like electron or tauri.
That is called graphical interface not an OS... Not trying to be the guy but since you are more of a technical channel I would except the information to get more technical
I also created Windows 11 clone with Next.js, you can even use multiple windows, minimize, maximize, close and etc, i can share you the Deployed Link and Repo too..
So it’s not Windows 11 or an OS in React, it’s just a HTML page that looks like the Win11 desktop. Kind of. 99% of the apps are just images/dummies that do nothing.

More stable than Windows.
😂😂😂😂
Windows 11 and Windows 10 work stable. Your comparison might have come from the previous decades when we used to use Win 95, 98, XP etc ...
