That was very educational. I have two small questions: 1) What is the meaning of the terms "Imperial Greek music" and "Classical music" in the context of this video? Or have you covered this in an earlier video? 2) Are you using some type of wax to stop/seal up unneeded finger holes?
Hi @dbadagna . 1) With terms "Imperial Greek music" and "Classical music", we are referring to the time periods within which the documents are from. The start of the Imperial period is conventionally identified with the battle of Actium (31 BC), which marked the end of the Roman Republic and beginning of the Principate. What we have called Classical Greek music embraces all the documents that come before then (and before the big gap in the extant documents), i.e. both late Classical and Hellenistic scores. 2) We are using wax or Patafix to cover the unused fingerholes.
Hello may be you missed our other tutorial videos they are about the reeds and the basics for aulos playing, see here: Aulos Tutorial Videos ua-cam.com/play/PL1TMoxwNXgQplfOmpl-lcED5yc68-SPGP.html

I was hoping the second part would be about the reeds and their technique…

@@auloscollective1023 yes! Thank you!
is the lower phrygian mode the same as modern minor harmonic?
It is a bit like what we call the Dorian now. B Dorian is B,C#,D,E,F#,G#,A,B Whereas B harmonic minor is B,C#,D,E,F#,G,A#,B
@@auloscollective1023 Ahhh! Thank you!
