Ascension 13 or 14
Ascension levels are harder difficulties in Slay the Spire.
You start at 0 and can go all the way up to 20. NL is making his way through each Ascension level.

This was the hardest switch at the beginning. Man says don't act like you're 22 when your 32, and then he extols the virtues of "growing down." Just say that there are some behaviors you like and dislike; age has nothing to do with it.

@WaterCat5 clearly you have an issue with opinions not of yours. Nobody said anything was wrong, we are simply saying it's CODED, key word, that 10 year Olds drink go gurts and play with barbies. Those are child activities. Don't see to many 8 year Olds doing taxes, or working on tying neck ties do you? Seems you have a disassociation with what's deemed age related, and that's is OK. 👍 Just not general public. Hopefully this disassociation is only hobby related..
@@Twizzler300 Right, but first of all, NL wasn't talking about anything like that. He was referencing things like criticizing his gameplay, which tying it to an age is not meaningful because there is no reason to do so.
Obviously, some things are age-gated, but I think just because things are associated with certain age groups doesn't mean they should be. NL is himself recognizing this with the "growing down" discourse, and that's what's annoying to me. He's being two-faced about it.
The reason 8-year olds don't typically do taxes is because most don't have the skills. However, if an 8-year old did have the skills, there's no reason why they couldn't. Same with the neck ties. There's got to be some 8-year old or younger kid who likes wearing ties and knows how to do them.
Also, NL wasn't talking about children necessarily. He mentioned 22-year olds. That's an adult, and what he's discussing is adult-capable behaviors.
Can't help but notice you didn't explain why it matters. The fact that people associate things with other things based on age is not justification for the association. I'm fine accepting it's not normal, but belittling what other people like solely on that basis is asinine, which is what I was objecting to because that's what NL was saying.
@@WaterCat5 you typed multiple paragraphs, when I read the first one and it doesn't make sense, I ignore the rest. Seems you domt accredit degradation of sense to age. That's also OK to do. It's not the majority opinion as well. I didn't read the rest, as the beginning was clearly an opinion that typically isn't held by the general population. If I remember correctly NL has been VERY sick multiple times, while eating relatively healthy amd exercising (maybe a bit too much) quite often. I think the man understands his own body more then you do, again, most people agree, being 35 y.o - 40 tends to reduce hand eye coordinations akin to gaming.

I'm honestly of the opinion that the Watcher is not the easiest character to play. Yeah shes the strongest, and by a wide margin, but unless you're going Rushdown Infinite she's pretty complex. Lots of things to manage and keep track of. She's like the highest minimum requirement for deck mangement in the game, retain and scry are huge
I don't know how this makes sense. Retain and Scry make it so that you don't need to construct your deck as well, or am I missing your point?
@@WaterCat5 Wrath makes it so that you need to construct your deck extremely well, and retain and scry are borderline necessary to not be turbofucked by it
Non-blasphemy Divinity builds are kind of an exception but at the same time all the non-blasphemy options are slow (usually by requiring 2 full deck rotations) so they also require a trim deck at least
I personally would say Watcher is the most volatile character - you can lose an incredible run by a poor draw relatively easily, and you can fluke 0 damage insane fight wins relatively easily with an equally good burst hand. There's an argument that managing that volatility well makes her hard, there's an argument that not paying attention to the volatility and fluking lucky wins is easy. Matter of perspective and if we're talking about truly playing the character optimally/consistently.
I think your all wrong. Watcher is both the strongest and the easiest to play. Calm/Divinity makes it easy to generate energy, Scry makes it difficult to draw poorly, wrath can deal shit tons of damage, and there are a TON of cards that just win you the game if you get them and know how to use them.
The problem isn't with the Watcher, its with NL who seems to feverishly avoid all the actually good cards and combos in favor or the Watchers worst cards/combos that for whatever reason he believes are amazing (and making 30+ card fat decks rather than keeping his decks slim).
@@chasewilson3693 idk I think watcher has relatively few cards that just win you the game and more stuff that requires comboing or more thoughtful use. I think it's in fact reasonable to say that watcher has a lot of kinda ass/at least not generally usable cards. Compare the raw power of the yellow cards to silent or ironclad (although admittedly there are more better general use blue cards)
