Palestinian here. Regarding your comment about Palestinians saying we don't want to prioritize Palestinian liberation over Syrian liberation... this framing is incorrect and shows you don't fully understand what the problem is. It's not even possible to prioritize our liberation over theirs bc our liberations are actually tied together. Syrians will never have true liberation without the liberation of Palestine. This is because all of us in West Asia are collectively under the boot of American Imperialism. You have to think of the American empire as an octopus, it has one arm in Syria, another arm in Lebanon, another in Iraq, another in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi, etc. but the head is in Palestine. "Israel" is the core of America's foothold in the region and the colony that allows the U.S. to have influence and power over all of us. Assad was an evil dictator but pushing him out and replacing him with a CIA puppet allows the octopus to tighten its grip on Syria, which hurts all of us. The goal of the axis of resistance is not about liberating Palestine alone, it's about liberating ALL of us in West Asia from American Imperialism. Overthrowing governments in other countries besides Palestine is like cutting off the arm of the octopus, it will only grow back. The only way to k!ll it is by going after its head (the dismantling of "Israel"). There's no such thing as a free Syria, free Iraq, or free Lebanon etc. without a free Palestine. The axis of resistance is our only key to the complete dismantling of American hegemony. All Arabs/West Asians have to understand that by hurting the resistance and blocking Palestine's liberation they're actually blocking their own freedom.
Really sad that the Palestinian people have been betrayed yet again. The brave people of Gaza are always in my prayers. Really hope that Syria gets a government which truly represents the will of the Syrian people.

There seems to be a dissonance between the idea that Al-Assad being power hungry and that Al-Assad was sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. If I was power hungry and wanted to keep my power position, I would align myself with the west, like Jordan and Turkey.
Right? You would do the opposite of what he did from when he got in office. Assad did try to appease the west a little bit for example with diversifying his media from state based media to add other media at the behest of western pressures which helped propagandize the population. But since the war started, Assad did the exact opposite of anything that would lead an educated person to believe that he was on the side of power for the sake of power. How his country crumbled further after the ceasefire, how he didn’t implement any changes that Russia and Iran told him to do so, is just another mistake of many, but none of those were power moves, all the opposite.
Talking to a few Syrians, they can’t seem to crawl out of their pro - Assad or anti - Assad dugouts even with contemporary events unfolding. Never mind that Syria isn’t really a country any more. This kid, with many Arabs apparently, would prefer to undermine the operation for Palestinian liberation for other goals such as Fall of Assad or Ottoman Expansion. Essentially telling the Palestinians, “yeah we’ll get back to you later, maybe in another 100 years there will be a Palestine.” Unreal!
Thank you Scott Ritter for bringing up the anger we feel, the bitter truth we live as Arabs that we are cowards for standing with our brothers in Gaza, no cowardly position can be justified whether by the Syrian or the Palestinian in the West Bank or anywhere, and Muslims know that the Islamic religion has imposed resistance on us even if the price is death, thank you again for showing us that the truth is apparent to all of humanity

The fact that he thinks Hezbollah wasn’t putting pressure on Israel is insane. It was slow, yes, but definitely not a lost cause
The Palestinians have spoken for themselves. They say that the struggle of the Syrians under bashar is the same as their struggle since they are Muslims. So if you are not happy for their liberation then you shouldn’t be happy for the liberation of the Palestinians.
100% agree with Scott. I love the “define evil” argument, that just does it! If Assad was such an evil and all he wanted is power at any cost, he would have taken the same option as Jordan and Egypt take the money and support evil 🇮🇱 disregarding the Palestinian cause. Assad didn’t, he stayed in his country and supported the resistance till he could/wanted. Come on!
That is a false dichotomy. The argument that "if Assad was evil and power hungry, he would have supported evil Israel" and because he didn't, therefore he is not evil, oversimplifies the situation and reduces it down to two choices: one is evil if one supports Israel. One is not evil if one doesn't support Israel. Using the "head of all evil" idea as a means to reject other forms of evil, no matter how grievous, is not reasonable or humane.

Scott ridder is wrong on the Palestine vs Syria comparison. The plo agreed to put down arms for a diplomatic solution. Whether or not that was the right thing to do or not it made the West Bank a demilitarized zone for the most part, meaning there’s very little armed groups in the area that can afford to challenge the PA. To challenge the PA militarily is to challenge Israel as well. So you have rag tag militias with little to no military/diplomatic support from the outside world vs one of the most militarized societies in the world that has the full fledge support of the worlds most powerful countries. Syria had a civil war in which a faction of the military and volunteers from around the world challenged the state. These rebels were supported with arms and at times even military deployments and air strikes by countries all over the world including the us, Turkey, France and even Israel. The reason why Syrians could afford to challenge Assad is because many international actors empowered them to do so. The same cannot be said for Palestinians.
Can you please show any proof that the new Syrian gov was installed by the US?
The "Axis of resistance" was propping up a brutal dictator that did to Syrians worse than Israel did to Gaza. (look up Saidnaya Prison)
Also look up the massacres the Shiaa militias were doing against the Sunnis. (Hizb and others)
My whole family had to leave Syria because of this *******. Syrians are finally free.
Palestine is in our hearts, and when Syria is stronger we will fight for our brothers.
There is no "American Imperialism" without zio control of the US govt, Israel is the head of the snake and it has shills everywhere

The Palestinians have spoken for themselves. They say that the struggle of the Syrians under bashar is the same as their struggle since they are Muslims. So if you are not happy for their liberation then you shouldn’t be happy for the liberation of the Palestinians.
They both made good points I’m right in the middle here. Happy Assad is gone but this is a death blow to the chances of there being a free Palestine
Scott has backtracked on several points.

Reminds me of that Muslim end time prophecy where it mentions several positive attributes of the "Romans" (Christians/Western).
One of them is that they do not tolerate an unjust Ruler/King.

44 min in, I’m with Scott here. I don’t think the host has chosen a side at all. And that is our problem. We are not SET in our cause. What the heck kind of mentality is this. You fight to lose. huh?
Scott was right when he said the arabs hated eachother. No one can do anything when the arabian world doesnt partner up.
What is your cause, ultimately?
He even went as far to say that "Genocide has given us hope!". They're okay throwing tens and hundreds of thousands in the meatgrinder just so they can make a statement and still lose!

Scott Ritter: I fight to win. If you don't have time to see this 58 minutes video, this exchange best sums it up. It starts at 43:13 (it is 3+ minutes long).
Totally agree with Scott Ritter. Gullible fools have been sold a fake dream. Welcome to hell. This is Libya 2.0.

Extremely happy
The host has no shame
It's surprising how he claims to be a Kurd but pretends to not know about the crimes against humanity Turks/Arabs inflict upon them.
Fantastic! prop and co , this is what i was looking for. Do more of these tough conversations. Tired of the echo chambers

Those arabs who are celebrating the overthrow of their leader by the hand of their enemies are beyond stupid. When you have enemies who wish to make you look like Palestine and you siding with them to overthrow a leader who was defending you against them is just freaking stupid.

Also, ‘they’ believe this & ‘they’ are happy because…etc etc. Who tf are you to speak on behalf of all Syrians and all Palestinians? This is so hard to watch, but I’m here for Scott and his ACTUAL understanding accompanied by the FACTS!
He's reporting the reaction of the Syrian and Sunni Muslims which in its crushing majority is happy with this. It might be a disaster but when he says they are, they are. I am a Sunni Muslim myself and have no love for a government that tortured and imprisoned people for a comment or a wrong look at the wrong person. A government that used the State to appropriate wealth for a sectarian minority but I am conflicted about what it means for Palestinians because although the Assad regime was not fighting for them they were at least letting weapons go through.
@karimb972
Reporting? From who? And where exactly?
He has no idea of what’s being felt by those living through the hell in Syria or how any Palestinians currently being starved whilst fearing death, feel about anything and by the sound of it neither do you!
It’s very small minded to attribute your feelings however valid, onto those who are living this hell. As Scott attempted to lay out the harsh truth,; which is blatantly obvious, this was not accidental and there are scholars who have laid out the plans of these western countries stretching back decades. Why are you guys ok with a group who are being funded and trained by the same people who are massacring Palestinians? Because they’re ’Sunni?’ Sunni’s who have no intention of helping their Sunni brothers and sisters? It’s all good you guys sitting in your safe spaces celebrating, but just speak for your privileged selves!
@bobbyd5167 you are NOT one of us Bobby, so you don't know what the heck you are talking about. Do you read or understand arabic? Do you know any Syrian or Palestinian in the West or in Syria or Palestine? You are projecting your state of mind onto the host and me. We know and you don't know what the people feel like and I can tell you that even if they could be wrong because they could possibly get worse, they are satisfied with the Ba'ath regime's fall, whether you and all Western lefties like it or not.
@@bobbyd5167 you're projecting on us, Bobby. You are a western lefty living in the West that speaks and reads no Arabic and has no relatives in the region an you are telling Sunni Muslims you are arabic and/or have relatives that live there that we don't know what the majority of people of the people in Syria and Palestine think about the removal of the Syrian alawi-led baath regime. Small-minded, Bobby? Seriously? Once you learn arabic and talk with people living there, tell me about the people living in Syria and Palestine. In the meanwhile, you should consult sunni muslim English content to get a glimpse of the reality. They might all be wrong and the outcome will be a disaster but for you, an outsider to tell us, Sunni Arab Muslims that we don't know, that's rich. The irony level couldn't be higher.
I salute your knowledgeable and firm stance on the truth. The ultimate strategy of any Sunni pawn serving Western interests seems to be reducing even doomsday, to electoral debates "You are a Westerner, so your opinion is inherently invalid, we just want to bring about our doom!" Ottoman Empire is the most brutal in History, the least civilized, the most hated, especially among Muslims. People travel to Istanbule because it is cheap.
These are two completely different scenarios.
Turks were the first to recognize the state of Israel

Back then no one was even aware of the possibility of fake propaganda and manipulation.
