Petra..I was wondering if you have a heated ventilated garage.I ask as I am in Canada and the temps are now too cold for the resin to set properly..and with the furnace on no ventilation..how do u do it?
Hi Susan, Yes I do have a heated ventilated garage. I have a small heater with which I can control the temperature in my studio. The walls are also insulated. To ventilate I have windows on both sides of my studio that I can open. An hour before I start working with resin in my studio, I turn on the heater and heat up the resin. During working with resin I open the windows and lower the heater so that it stays around 21 degrees, also during drying.

Two questions what is in the black that u spread before swiping? And those interference colors, is there something different with them or is it just a part of the name interference gold like ruby red? Sorry I'm new to all of this and just trying to understand it all

The resin I'm using you can't buy in Canada, but the StoneCoat Art Coat is also a very good resin. The pigments I'm using are my own natural mica pigments. They are also available in Canada by my associate. I will include the link. www.etsy.com/nl/shop/FunShineColorShop

Thank you so much Shazia for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. No, I waited 24 hours before I poured the second layer. Then it's not totaly cured, that will take 1 month, but after 24 hours it's touch dry.
You can mix pigment powders, inks and paste into resin. I always use colors that are made to be used in resin. Normaly acrylic paint is not designed to be used in resin.

No, you can't control resin 100% . You can make flowers in resin, but they would never look like when you paint them. ❣😀

Thank you so much for your nice compliment Lorena. I created the bubbles/cells with the Stonecoat white base tint. If you blow the other colors over the white you can create these effects.

The resin I'm using you can't buy in Canada, but the StoneCoat Art Coat is also a very good resin. The pigments I'm using are my own natural mica pigments. They are also available in Canada by my associate. I will include the link. www.etsy.com/nl/shop/FunShineColorShop

Cool technique, amazing effects . Question did you do the second layer whilst the first layer was wet or did you wait for the first layer to cure then added second layer? Thanks
Thank you so much Shazia for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. No, I waited 24 hours before I poured the second layer. Then it's not totaly cured, that will take 1 month, but after 24 hours it's touch dry.
Belize What colors can be mixed with resins to give a gloss Is it acrylic or other colors please answer?
You can mix pigment powders, inks and paste into resin. I always use colors that are made to be used in resin. Normaly acrylic paint is not designed to be used in resin.
Since Stone Coat doesn't make the base tints anymore have any other suggestions? There new stuff is not the same.
A comparable pigment paste that you can use as a base is the Cell Base from Eli-Chem Resin Supplies Pepper Weinglass.
