Another great Saturday morning, thanks to Chilli! It's staggering how many bags you got when you could only get part of what was there. I want to make you signs/ stickers you can put up in certain spots that are regularly used that say "This is not a rubbish bin. Please find a real one." or something to that effect. However, the people who litter wouldn't be affected by that at all. Oh well. I hope you're all better by now, and that the poor beleaguered street cat is doing OK.

Hi Chilli, I forgot to mention those metal frames you pulled out from the bushes are Road sign stands as you probably already know, but the problem is now that the are all contractors, in my area signs stay out for ages , this is why most people ignore them when it says road closed because more often than not the road is open with the signs left behind. I’ve found these discarded behind vegetation too it’s the actual contractors that do it.
Oh Chilli the irony! That person filming you was obviously not the sharpest tool in the box lol. That bush was a complete nightmare, it’s terrible this time of year isn’t it because everything is way overgrown and the councils aren’t cutting the growth back like they used to . Early this year we had high winds and high tides it brought loads of litter mainly plastic bottles on the marsh I cleared the lot over four days on my own , I had to drag bags up a steep bank, there is a cycle route right next to the area this idiot on a bike arrived and said rather rudely what are you doing what’s in those bags ( the bags were keep Britain clean bags ) the logo printed on them , well I wasn’t very polite to this guy I can tell you , he cycled off in a panic lol .
nicely done I bet there were dozens of more bags of stuff hidden in those bushes, I also heard the the UK is not even looking at bottle and can deposits until 2027 at the earliest is that right?
That bag of nappies, I would’ve have put that inside the bin or into another rubbish bag for hygiene purposes. That aside, good work collecting them. 👍🙂
What a disgrace so much litter in such a small stretch of bushes. Saddening to watch to be fair Chili but us litter pickers must carry on trying to make a difference, sadly for the majority they will continue to either throw their litter or it becomes the norm to see it but for people like us we feel we have to do something about it

Would love to see an anti-litter education start in preschool/ kindergarten & continue throughout school. It's a long-term approach but could help. Perhaps have people, other than teachers, visit the schools to do demos & get the kids involved.
Just had a thought watching the hideous amount of trash on the property behind the “bushes” you are cleaning!!! I think the council should deputize you to issue citations for unsightly trash accumulation on business property!!!! The citations posted on the entrance to the property and also mail - certified (signature required at receipt of delivery by the postal service.) The citation issued by the Council stating If not cleaned up within a stated period of time, fines of a set amount based on the lineal footage of infested area to be charged. Bottom line, trash is a public health hazard….rodent and insect are drawn to the “stuff”!!! Maybe it’s the Health Dept that should own the process of Notification issuances and collection of fines’ revenue (?) Use the fine revenue to purchase public litter cans!……. The ordinance should require fined litterers to purchase cans … be responsible to set them out and contract with garbage collection a service to collect/empty them. Call me crazy, but this idea needs to be run up the flag pole!!!!

i think that one short, negative conversation with the guy who works there threw off your whole day. it doesn't take much to derail a positive, happy mood sometimes. it shouldn't, people say, but if one is at all humanely human, it bloody well does. it's demoralizing. my pension came in, sending you another wee bit.
It's interesting you picked up on that because it wasn't actually the first people in the video, But was actually a guy I shouted at for littering on the way to this litter pick! He had torn up a bunch of lottery tickets into a load of pieces and chucked them right in front of me. 😑
I find it so funny when people are like that I had it around April with some one kicking off at me and telling me I should be dumping rubbish an making look bad an said I would be getting reported but when I said I had been cleaning the woodland are for the past 2 months doing one day a week an clearing 80 bags they did apologise after I said I can get them a litter picker an bags if they want to clean the area haha
@@chilli_pips If you're anything like me, the most enjoyable/rejuvenating litter picks are the ones furthest from loud traffic. My picks near main roads are usually shorter, or I combine them with a quieter area to maintain my energy.
He's explained in several of them. Found it covered in rubbish one day, tidied it up and adopted it. I think he said William was a vicar or reverend in life. It's episode 10 that he first finds it and reads the headstone.
