Glad you are rebuilding I am going to make a suggestion you should have them make a groove and or notches in the floor just in case you need to insert an acrylic or plexi glass walls similar to what Kevin at Predatory fins did in his stingray tank so the fish cant remove the wall but you can and you would have the ability to separate fish if needed
That’s a great idea. I’m definitely going to talk to then about it as well and go over the details. With only having 1 big tank that’s always kinda scared me of the fish not getting along. I appreciate your suggestion Matt!
Gonna be such a dope setup! I can't wait to see the way the man cave turns out! and get some ideas for my own 😂 and I think any type of sturgeon would look awesome! But i love the monster fish idea!!!
Thank you! I want to make it like the ultimate hangout spot. It will be like Las Vegas in there 😂 I just want to do something memorable with it. I would love a sturgeon. What type do you think ?
@@MonsterFishKing Yes Vegas would definitely be a vibe bro!😂 And i've seen a couple of videos of albino sterlet sturgeons that look amazing! I know that whatever you decide to do is gonna be dope!!
My suggestions for stock are bass, barramundi, gar, vittaus, and goliath African tigerfish, parron sharks, Iridescent sharks, arowana and If you really wanted something cool get a snakehead.
Looking forward to seeing this pond develop. Will it be a single pour process? Also be nice to get an insight into how they are going to seal the concrete to keep it water tight and prevent the concrete affecting the pH values in the system. Although you are building a single pond will you be able to section it off in case you need to separate fish for one reason or another?
Thanks Bob it was about a 4 hour gunite process were it’s sprayed in hose. This pond will be built and sealed just like a gunite inground pool. I think with the finish we put on after the concrete has dried should keep the ph from fluctuating from what I’ve read. Right now we just have the 1 big pond so I will try to be very selective with what fish goes in. I do have emergency 300g stock tanks I will have setup incase a fish gets injured or needs to be quarantined.
@@MonsterFishKing Had a look at pools being built using gunite as it’s a process I haven’t heard of. My past experience of building large tanks from concrete was with shutters and a number of pours to complete the build depending on the size of the tank. Having seen one pool build using this process I’m looking forward to seeing how your project develops.
What about having some structure for the fish to hide in or just feel more relaxed like their natural habitats. Might want some turtles and stingrays too
We have been thinking hard about what structure we want to put into tanks. It’s tuff cause these fish are so big and strong. I was thinking of doing like a giant baby yoda statue or something 🤣
You could extend the height of the pond. I think I heard that arapaima need 10,000 gallons. I am a large pond owner myself. I own a 13,000 gallon any Ideas?
Yeah long term Arapaima need so much room! I would love to extend height but I don’t think I can afford it at the moment. That’s so cool. Is it an indoor pond or outdoor pond. I would love to see some pics.
I have a platinum red tail about 25-30 inches I might want to see you give him a better home if interested. He eats out your hand I bought him from rob about 2 yrs ago. If I decide not to build something bigger I will donate him to you

I’m looking forward to watching this pond develop!! Keep up the great content.
Thanks Corey. I can’t wait for them to concrete it. I think this pond will be indestructible.

Me too! He still has a lot of size to put on but it will be worth it.
