This was such a wonderful video! Being a ferret owner of 20 years I just have to say a couple things. One, ferrets lack the enzyme to digest dairy so they shouldn't be given any. Two, they are social animals so they benefit greatly from having more of their kind around. We have a general rule of keeping at least two in our house because they can die from loneliness. You seem to keep George here very active and entertained, keep it up! Dook dook 🐾
How did you house-train. We got 2 ,plus year old ferrets they would go in the corners with puppy pads but weren't able to litter train How did you do it?
Thanks for sharing this nice video of George the ferret. I love seeing how happy he is in his new home. I also have a ferret name George. He used to look alot similar to your George. His fur started getting more lighter each year. My George is turning 5yrs old in April this year. He is my first ferret. I also have 3 other ferrets name Casper, Fiona, and Rerun. George is the oldest. I love ferrets ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We have three ferrets. Life is so much fun and sometimes they can be a pain too. They think everytime I sit in the recliner they get treat, a fish oil mixture from the pet store. Nothing like 3 spoiled ferrets! They really get to know you and what your going to next
Adorable! And what a lovely home you have, too. I hope George hasn't tried to make any holes in your sofa. I've had ferrets for the last 25 years. Lovely animals.
Thank you. George has explored the sofa but not found his way in, yet. Our last girl lived in the sofa so much we had to sew an entrance hole in the side!
George is so cute and it looks like he has an awesome life! We had a ferret when I was a teenager and I remember he loved fruit loops and was OBSESSED with socks, even dirty ones. He’d steal them out of the hamper. They’re such fun pets. Thanks for sharing!
@@Derek_Lark It's been said Ferrets are nocturnal, so I only walk them at night when the sun goes down. If I try to walk them in the daytime, they get nervous and want to run back to the house. Eagles/owls/Hawks prey on ferrets in the wilds, so with any bird sound they may think it's a Hawk or Eagle. What doesn't show up on a ferret's radar screens are owls. One night, while walking my ferret, an owl flew down and parked itself 3 feet from my ferret, ready to take him airborne But I was lucky to see it happening. Beware walking them at night for owls. owls can airlift cats and even small dogs. Ferrets are generally fearless, they can, if cornered, kill cats and dogs. We occasionally get javelinas coming thru my neighborhood, and it's very amusing to watch, my ferret dashes after them (he's on a leash) and the javelina run like crazy, fearful of this small little animal. I've been to parks, and my fearless ferret will run after a German Shepherd dog, and, at first, the dog backs away until he regains his senses. Have fun on your ferret walks. My ferret gravitates to any pipe, running out of a building, and attempts to climb thru it, and drainage pipe, big or small.
Lovely ferret and I say this more hopefully, and less criticisingly, but I hope there's room for another brother/sister ferret if there isn't already? i'm already at my third and I need to stay away from getting a fourth!
My life in 6 minute I have 3🤣🤦♀️ but I never take them out with the leash they always slipped out of it🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️I have a stroller, and a clear book bag, and a hand bag,,, scare to give then a walk on the leash🤦♀️🤦♀️
What a great idea! At least they get a sensory experience outdoors. George gets a leg out now and then so we watch closely. He is now in the smallest cat harness we can buy in Australia the other harnesses we had were an easy “escape”.
@@Derek_Lark 🤣🤣🤣 I had to stitched some of the stroller corner u know they no joke in the stroller I had to walk with with 4 eyes because u know exactly what we dealing with they smell any hole🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
I love your videos of George, but do you mind me asking why he's on his own, as I've always thought they should at least be in pairs? Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍
hi george, its nono you have a big house much bigger than my apartment but that's enough for me and my human made me a whole tube course with bottles and these great your humans take good care of you it's great
Well sort of. If he needs to wee he will find one of the many puppy pads we have spread around but when he needs to poop he only finds the paper about 50% of the time, except if he is in his cage in which case he always uses the pad. It is like he just has to go straight away. The puppy pads are placed in locations where he has decided would be good spots for a toilet. An easy clean up if he manages to make it to one. In spots we don't want him to use we have put some of his toys, which seems to work most of the time. So more like George training the humans than the other way.
@@georgetheferret6825 Thank you. It's not just my Jasper then.I have papers in the corners of every room, which as you say are used about 50% of the time. The rest of the poop,is rather random and could be anywhere.First job when I get out of bed is hunt the poop !
do you raw feed your ferrets, I am trying to get a ferret and I don't know were to get raw ferret food. I can find raw dog food but cant find raw ferret food.
Yes, he has settled on raw pork loin steak as his favourite. We get that at the supermarket and chop to pieces about 1 cm cubes. He also has dry ferret food in his cage for snacks but doesn’t eat much.

george is awesome! love ferrets... but need to give you some advice on them. dont give him milk, or anything that has any carbs. he will get pancreatitis which requires medicine the rest of his life. and please, only bottled water in a glass or ceramic bowl, not the plastic drinking bottles that mount inside a cage. be extremely careful with chemical cleaners and pesticides too. they are very delicate creatures, crawl very low to the floor and can pick up many things not healthy. also take all footwear off at the front door. keep nails trimmed and clean his teeth. ferrets get periodontal disease which oddly enough can trigger hearth and kidney problems. they are also VERY susceptible to getting adrenal disease. first sign is hair loss on the tail. there is an implant that takes care of it..its the size of a grain of rice and implanted in the back of the neck area. this can be done preemptively so he never gets adrenal as well.
He a polecat not ferret... Ferrets are always white with red eyes and generally smaller..and less aggressive!, hunters usually cross breed the two because a ferret is more easily trained and less aggressive and easily retreived, where as a polecat dont really listen when encouraged to come out, and often will kill in resulting sometimes in blocking its self in, so youll have to keep returning every day for at least 4 days untill its chewed its way through even then sometimes youll lose one for good!, unless youve tracker chipped him, whereas a ferret will usually flush the rabbit out instead of full on determined attack...

I've been a ferret dad for 23 years and ferrets are like potato chips, you can't have just one lolol
He said it was "cat" milk, which is lactose free, so safe for adult cats and ferrets.

Watching George puts a smile on my face. I miss my 6 to this day and it’s been 23 yrs since the last one passed 💔

Yes it's hard to imagine what life was like before ferrets came into my world. Love mine with all my heart. They're my children
Your doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work. I've had ferrets for 30 yrs. I could tell immediately that he is very loved.

Always nice to see a ferret with a leash, taking them for walks. I leash walk my ferret every night for 6-8 blocks.
Yes, he is a great walker, loves getting into the garden shed and smelling every crevice. Not too keen when the noisy birds are overhead though.

What type of leash is that? And how you get him to wear it?
It is a small cat lead. i have been wearing a lead since the time I arrived in my new home. I have had to get bigger leads as I have grown up though.

Does he kill, just asking because of your toy, a furry rat 🤔✌️
No, he just likes fluffy toys, particularly ones with a suede like covering.
I hate auto correct
HI, IF YOU REALLY LOVE FERRETS PLEASE TAKE ONE MORE FERRET, BETTER TWO BECAUSE FERRETS NEEDS FERRETS, KEEPING A FERRET ALONE IS CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

Uh. That’s a ferret, atleast in the video. Polecats are chunkier, have wider faces, and darker fur. :)
Rubbish. There are 10 breeds of (domesticated) ferrets. Only ONE of them is "always white". It's called Albino. George is a SABLE. or SABLE MITT.
