This task was easily my favourite (tiny island > everything else), and I'm very happy to have made the slow-mo after putting in more time than I have for any task before! Shame I was 2 easily saveable frames (they could've been saved in a single quickturn lol) behind tying the legendary Dargod though...
Congrats to Expert & especially SilentSlayers for destroying us mere mortals with great routes & execution, and shoutouts to Non5en5e for his really creative top coin strat!

Really interesting how sm64expert's run was actually _faster_ than silentslayers's in the beginning (3:14), but silentslayers was able to overtake sm64expert with better routing. Congratulations to all contestants for doing this!!

So when you make these challenges, do you have a specific route that you think people will use or do you just put the challenges out there and see what people can do with them?
We don't have specific recommended routes or anything, but we do look into the task beforehand to make sure there isn't a single route that completely dominates (otherwise routing is no longer a challenge & the task is less interesting to enter), and that it isn't likely to be too long/short/uninteresting or anything like that.
Hey sonicpacker so i installed your mupen64 with rerecording and tasinput thing but the problem is when i launch sm64 with tasinput plugin it says no controler please help
So THC98 did it with -5496 rerecords!
How can you have - Rerecords?
He hex-edited the TAS file to change the number (SilentSlayers did the same to have 0 rerecords too)

Sonicpaker I loved the video and the songs my father forbade me to play Super Mario 64 so I'm doing speedruns of donkey kong country 2 and 3 and mano I was so eager to see if MKDasher shows up and who gets first and I finish opening the description and the first, second, third, fourth and fifth places are doing TAS very well not that others do bad TAS on the contrary they do very well but the other places quoted making TAS of I open my mouth and sonic I do not even know do a TAS they do better than me and yes for sure and I think you noticed that I used Google Translate because I'm Brazilian, but I someday want to go to the United States or to the Cotinente Americano and I loved SuperDavooooo1 I love it when he participates but the others I also like but he hardly appears, right!

He hex-edited the TAS file to change the rerecord count - it's not legit. Same for THC98's negative rerecord count. SS did the same thing last task & said he did it to demonstrate that the rerecord count isn't as important as people think it is
