I love this song so much although without any lyrics. At first time I didn't know much about Eric Marienthal it was just by chance I bought mp3 disc Jazz collection and I found one of the musicians was him. Since then I became one of his big fans. Now every time I drive my car, Eric Marienthal's song always entertain me without being realized that the farest driving does feel like short distance.
Thank you Eric, for pleasuring us with songs like this one.
#SmoothJazz
I believe I'd be correct in saying that Brenda Russell is the original writer & singer, but the song became an international hit when Oleta Adams sang and recorded it in 1990.
i know this comment may be out of place but i was wondering if anybody has the version by a jazz duo called "The Sidemen" and their names are Rick Connolly and Greg Perkins, they do a sax and acoustic guitar with a beautiful voice singing. the only reason i ask this is because their version is the first i've heard as a kid and ive been hooked on these songs ever since. so if anybody can help i"d really be grateful. on a side note: I love this version too!
do it by ear dude, dont have to transcribe it, learning things by ear really helps improve you as a player overall, i almost have it all memorized by ear, just takes patience, and you'll be able to do it much faster the more you do it, and tell what key things are in immediately, and learn what each note of your horn sounds like, and trult creating that"bond" with the saxophone
anybody have the sheet music for this song i really want to play this song and don't have time to transcribe on my own somebody please tell me if you do i would highly appreciate it :)
