This interview should be required in every music schools curriculum! Hands down, the most useful information on how to make it in the biz, if you're going to make it at all.❤❤❤
Thanks for your comments and checking out my podcast.
Every school of ANY kind. I cannot wait for my boys to be old enough to absorb this knowledge BOMB! Valuable life lessons for ALL!
That's so cool. Thanks. @@johnmargiotti1262
There are probably more talented musos out there but with no smarts or business sense.
Or just low self esteem.
I know I get depressed every day which puts a huge barrier in trying to practise .
Rock industry full of narcissists
I have known Phil for 40 years, still a great, down to earth guy. And I visited him at his moms while he was learning the Bon Jovi dvd’s!!!! Great interview!!!!!
Fantastic story.. Thanks for sharing.. : )
Also known as a "stalker".
I freaking love Phil X....this was one of the best interviews Kenny has done....why??? Because Phil X is just that interesting!!

Jimmy Thanks for checking out my podcast your comments.
You heard it here! Ive always said it this way. He isn't replacing Richie as a fill out do his entire own thing guy. But he isn't simply filling in for Sambora either. In conclusion:
He's not a fill in.
He's not a fill out.
He's the Phil X!
X marks the spot 😉
lol Thanks for checking out my podcast

Hey Kenny! I live about an hour from where Phil X grew up. I love Phil X and his mad skills. Being a 54 yo guitarist, I'm still learning to be a rock star in my local circuit. I love learning from your stories along with your guests. It's very inspiring, and educational. If I'm feeling it, there are many others benefitting from your Sessions. Thank you brother!!
wow.. thank you.. : )

@@greg.montelione Great.. Thanks for your comments.. You totally get it. Thanks you. : )
Two of the coolest dudes ever. I could listen to them all day long. The best parts for me are when Phil is talking about his dad... and at the end when he talks about his son. Beautiful personal moments - that mean so much to him.
I agree.. Those were great moments in Phils episode.
Met both you at Satriani’s camp last year. End of day in the elevator you told me you were headed to your room to work up charts for the following day, after backing everyone on everything all day! Showed me alot about your level and dedication that day. Respect and well earned success Kenny!
Thank you for your message and checking out my podcast.
Hagar should have gotten Phil for the Van Hagar tour this summer.
Thanks for checkin grout Phil X's episode on my podcast.. : )
BRILLIANT...!
Could you make such a video with RICHIE SAMBORA???
That would be very cool
Stellar session with Phil X. My amazing supportive mother to keep my musical dream alive, was Greek as well (R.I.P. 12-18-21). Music is life. 24/7
I love Phil X's stories about his family.
Oh man, this guy is amazing! So good to know that a new record is coming out soon
@Philx1111 is THE GUY. I’ve followed him since the Fretted Americana days. A buddy of mine and I caught Phil when he was coming through Cleveland and he was 100% as advertised. He kicked complete ass. He was super energized. His guitar tone was 10/10 (even though it was DI). It was a smaller band but I knew Phil was coming into town with them so I commented on his Insta post saying so. No big deal.
But the best part? Phil came over, said hello to me, and asked me about my gigs. I don’t get star struck at all but Phil X is an exception 💯 He’s what dreams are made of!
wow.. Great comments.. Thanks for checking out my podcast,
Wow!! Playing around on UA-cam and came across this. What an amazing interview! I’ve been a fan of both these guys for years! Great Job Kenny!! and me being a guitar player, Phil is one of my go to guys for inspiration! All the Best!!

I love Phil X. Dude is so energetic and his playing is just weird enough to always be interesting. Phil is the man.
What a lovely conversation- thank you for sharing! 🤘
Thanks for checking out my podcast.. : )
Hello it's nobody here, I toured for long and our tactic was that we always wanted the 'opening spot' (for several reasons), so we could set up the bar, and then could enjoy the following shows (headlining bands didn't liked it!). Then put it up a notch (with an H.C.band!), we would play first and play a second time last, when everyone is done!
Man I just "met" Phil and I love that guy. He does something that I always wanted to do, sing and play those songs that are hard to do it like he does. He's amazing and a very cool person.
Cool. Thanks fr checking out my podcast.
Great video! 👍Phil X is underrated and I truly believe he is on the list with Hendrix, Beck, Van Halen etc. Been watching him for years.

And I'm the same age as JBJ.
lol Fantastic.. Thanks for checking out my podcast.
Kenny, I gotta say, I love how you do these interviews. Keep on rockin'
Great interview Kenny! I'm happy for you Phil. You're fueled by passion and live with gratitude. You deserve everything that's coming to you my Canadian bro. Tell "Elvis" that "Rico Suave" (the name he anointed me, lol) says "Vat's Up Baby". He'll know that that means, lol. Tell him to get in touch with his long lost brother when he's in LA. Such a small world too because I went to Beverly High like John (Shanks) did and we know a lot of the same people. And Kenny, if you remember I worked on Aldo Nova's record at Le Studio (R.I.P.) in Morin Heights, Quebec too that Jon Co-Produced and we all stayed in that house, Randy (Jackson) on bass. I remember when Phil joined Aldo's band and Phil didn't you come over to Jon's house in Malibu in 1990 with Aldo? I thought I remember meeting you then. Anyway, VERY small world. Rock on everyone!!! 🤘
Thanks for checking out Phil X's Episode on my podcast.

This is Epic Kenny! Im from Canada I remember seeing Mud Pie in Kitchener Ontario Canada 1985 with Phil playing lead , always amazing
So good, thanks gents.
What a great sit down between two giants. Kenny was on point with the questions, and Phil with the stories. Phil for all that high energy is actually such a mellow cat and so down to earth, I love his energy. Insanely great chops from both of these world class musicians. Thanks Kenny and Phil.

I met Phil when I was a kid and he was with Frozen Ghost. Great player, great man! Took the time to chat with me when I was just some random 13 year old kid!! Never forget it.
I’m only realizing it now, but he would’ve only been about 19-20 years old at the time… 🎸⭐️

Another master class w ya brother Kenny. Phil has that damn energy right out the gate . Almost gotta take a Ritalin to follow him ha ha . He talked about “starting a bridge like this” in a Bon Jovi song n getting chills. I covered a Bon Jovi show years back and Phil X was playing . Got a message from the owner of the magazine and he said holy shit dude. Phil X read the write up already and he wanted to pass on his kudos. I got them goosebumps. Ha ha keep up the good work brother Kenny. Sorry, I didn’t have anything funny as usual ha haha
Thanks for your comments Sean...
Kenny and Phil hell of a combo 🤘 I don't even know myself as well as these two know their craft.

Phil X is amazing player but even more just a great person. I didn't realize he was in Frozen Ghost, such an amazing Canadian band. Here is one of there biggest hits "My Dream Come True" ua-cam.com/video/QffNNTIC8ag/v-deo.html Thank you Kenny for sharing this great interview. And its Awesome you played with Corey Hart. Look forward to new Bon Jovi album. Love Phil's story about his son, and making his kids life a priority, that you could see in his eye's how much his son and daughter mean, Priceless!! Cheers from Canada. Be well

Hey Zakk... Thanks for checking out my podcast.
this one is so fun! great episode!
Sarah Thanks for your comments.
First it was Wolverine in that vacant cavity in his guitar back in the day, and now Robin! One of my favorite characters growing up thanks to the Teen Titans tv show!
Where the content of the interview is concerned, holy shit he's got me hyped to hear the new Bon Jovi record! It sounds like he's so happy to have contributed more to the new material than the previous ones! I've really enjoyed 2020 and THINFS, but this has got me excited to hear Phil on the new album more than ever! This has also got me feeling super confident that even if Richie does end up rejoining for a 40th anniversary reunion tour, that Phil will stick around! It would suck to lose his stage presence after having him there for the last decade! Super excited to get the announcement he seemed to indicate at the end about a tour!
Thanks for your comments and checkin gout my podcast.. Phil X is a bad ass.
So rare to about a success story built from day one. So amazing!
Keep rockin’ Kenny! Your channel is great!
