    1. YES, it really is comfy! I somehow failed to mention this! :)
    2. I used a new audio recording setup for this video...unfortunately, a setting was incorrect. This means the audio is only on 1 side/earphone...SORRY! :)

No snow for the southeast corner of the state. I am glad you got it and not me. I love your dress. Horsehair is usually clipped and overlapped. This type interfacing was still in use for tailoring when I was young and learning to sew. I used iron on interfacing the last time I wanted that kind of structure. That worked quite well for a more modern jacket. I'm glad you got pictures in the snow. You are lucky it stayed around for you.

Yes, it would be stunning as a dramatic over coat. 🤔Was thinking along those same lines as she was putting the garment together. Gives you the chance to swap out your primary undergarments (whether you replace w/a gown, catsuit, etc.).
🛒 Made the mistake of buying two of those blouses with faux shell sewed into the inner seams. Gave the impression you were wearing 2 garments. Although
w/o the added layers. Rather than following my figure, it looked boxy, matronly, & moved awkwardly. 😆Hated it.
🖤Absolutely adored the soft Chinoiserie🏮fabric with Mandarin collar so much that I bought it in red and olive green. Each had a mix of black & white ginger jars and ancient floral medallions printed on it. It also had beautiful buttons.
✂️My first & only refashion project thus far was to clip out those solid black shell pieces with enough to make a tiny hem. Hand sewed the edges. Turned out kinda nice.😉Plus, it was a surprisingly easy process. Glad I didn't donate it in the end.
Now, I wear the blouses all the time over a black body-con silky tank & black cropped pants or pencil skirt😍.

With your hair the way it was done in the half finished video shoot you reminded me a lot of Georgiana Darcy in the ‘95 BBC version of pride and prejudice. Loved this whole video!!

The fold over facing could be called a revers. Because it folds outward. Horsehair anything can be itchy. Best to fabric line over it.

MY FAVORITE video of yours! The outfit was just beautiful and your skill at sewing was awe inspiring. The best part is that you brought the past to life by running and playing in ye old 1888’s cosy clothes. One request: is there any way to find lighting that allows the colors to show to their best? In one shot I was finally able to see the beauty of the red trim on the brown. So gorgeous!

Aw, thank you! Unfortunately, it was really hard to get the velvet to show up well...it's annoying, but I think it's just thanks to how the velvet is!

@@BellaMaesDesigns I remember Bernadette explaining how the nap of velvet can absorb light or reflect light, depending on which way it is lying. So I know it’s a tricky fabric to photograph. But there were moments when the color differences of the dress were really apparent. Just not sure what to do about having that happen on purpose lol. But really, I could totally picture you over a hundred years ago, running and playing in your cosy dress! I loved the video. And you made it look like you made it in a weekend lol!

I’m glad I am revisiting this video. You go over techniques that I have been recently searching for, but could not remember from where I heard about them in the first place.
Nicely done, this tea dress is just Devine.

I love vintage videos about “casual” or “comfy” clothes
We always think of ppl in the past super dressed up always (granted their relaxed style is still much more dressed up than our leggings😂)...I dress vintage and honestly the hardest outfits to put together are the casual or chill ones lol

💖It did turn out quite lovely. She's so unbelievably talented!
From Georgian to Victorian times, the styles were so ultra feminine, flattering, and romantic.❄Plus, these gowns were remarkably cosy in the dead of🌨winter🌬, esp. for those manor homes without central heat🌡too. Brrr!
💕Love the elegance of that long sweeping train too. Seems fine for interior floors kept polished by a legion of maids or having a footman helping you over puddles. Not so sure that length is practical today.
Even our ladies that ventured out to the 🔫Wild West frontier shortened their hemlines a bit to avoid dragging their skirts around in muck. Proving sometimes you have to go your own way.
😉Otherwise, the silhouette & style is perfection! Think a clever person could tweak this vintage pattern to work today. Maybe create a separate over-coat to wear on top of a tea-length dress.

I love wrapper dreses and yours is lovely! I understand the deadline you had due to the snow's imminent melt, and needing the exterior shots. But I do wish you would included footage of how you attached the white front piece and the closures, that's the part I was having a hard time visualizing. It would be great if you could a short update showing that, or maybe do a video where you go back and do the finishing on a two or three projects if you want to post regular length. It actually is really helpful and inspiring to see accomplished sewers having to tackle those last bits of finishing. Gives us novices a glimpse of how persistence leads to great results.
