Love the reflective comment at 16:50 - I am just CP with about 15 hours and know I need to do an SIV but bugger that looks intense...! Great video and thanks for sharing......🪂
Thanks for the video ! very useful ! ....the Sat/ Spiral in the end...one can really feel how disorienting it must be.....to the point where it's not completely obvious which side to pull down to stop it. I can now see why guys say they pulled the wrong side...
Thanks for the comment .. my first video post ! It’s a bit long but I included the whole course to show the extent of the course for others thinking of doing their first Siv … i highly recommend Jockey … he doesn’t muck around !! I only have 30 hours of flying but I’m glad to have done it …. I see this first experience as an introduction into the real potential of the glider and the energy that can be induced ! I have much more confidence now and look forward to another Siv next year to really start to learn the manoeuvres… it takes a while to process everything and I filmed the experience to relive it and see what my instinctive inputs were …. Main takeaway was that with a lot of energy in the wing you need a hell of a lot more force on the brakes to pull out of a spiral dive !!!! I’m now prepared if I ever found myself in a locked in spiral… could be a life saver !!
Impressive video. Especially the sat at the end! What do you think of the Gravis 2? Can you recommend it? I'm thinking of buying one after retiring my Gravis 1
Thanks … I do like my glider but I’m very light on it and haven’t had much experience on others and any where I’m heavier and more dynamic but as you can see from the video you can throw it around with out any surprises other than seeming to lock in to the spiral for me .I’ve had some collapses after the siv and I managed them easily and safely. I love the look of the icaro wings but have noticed some issues with some sewing coming loose .I’ve talked to other owners and they like theirs… but there’s a lot of choice out there … depends a lot on value for money.. I would go for a second hand wing in good condition!
Very good Patrick, Nice job, congratulations. Proud of you.
