    Anti Zionism does not equal anti-Semitism. It helps the Western alliance to continue to conflate the two and I am so tired of it. The actions of the state of Israel are objectively abhorrent. This should not be a controversial opinion.

    From what I can google, you would either need to hold dual nationality with Isreal, or have permission permission from the gov to fight in the IDF. So it's not "clearly illegal" but it isn't clearly legal either.

    What poll is showing this the labour leas has actually increased from 19.2% to 20.5% since the new year and the last 7 polls show an average lead of 21% …… talk about make it up newsagents!!

    Hmm, I think this particular segment of the podcast might have been a bit more potent had it been released last week rather than after the two crushing by-election victories over the Tories and latest polls showing the Labour lead increasing in certain polls. So, I was a bit baffled by the drama over the lead 'slipping away' as I shouted 'Err, no!' at the laptop screen.

      Surely these polls are a bit biased? I'm 43, have never taken part in a YouGov poll, haven't got any other friends who have either, not that, that would be conclusive, I don't even have a landline... I think they're just Boomer opinions.

    Most people would not disagree with anything said at the start of the podcast. Certainly doesn't sound antisemitic. It's totally reasonable as a social democrat to look at an extreme right wing Israeli government and be very disappointed in Keir Starmer's leadership on this issue.

    to answer the original question asked in this video the answer is no. Labour and Kier Starmer are terrible, nobody wants them but Sunak and the Tories are far worse. unfortunately given the current political situation, we currently have to wait 9 months to replace a government that people hate with a government that nobody wants. The political party we need and that actually represents the people of the UK does not currently exist, nor can it be formed without a serious risk of splitting the vote and allowing the torries a path to snake it's way back in. The political situation in the UK is bad and unlikely to get better until later this decade.

      @@stephfoxwell4620 Sorry to show my ignorance but to clarify. I wouldn't think British Jew is a dual nationality. Judaism is a religion, not a nationality. Surely it should be British Israeli. Mixing up Judaism and Israrali is where a lot of the issues/confusion lies. I can be anti-Israel without being antisemitic as noted in the podcast.

      Fine, but which party do you wish to form the post-election government? The fact you've never voted Tory (nor have I) suggests you don't want another disastrous Tory government. It may be (as it is in my constituency) that the Lib Dems are the main challenger. For that reason I'll be voting tactically.

    Betting for a Labour majority rock solid on the betting exchanges at around 80.6% - If anything it has slightly strengthened over the last week. Obviously this is not 100% and betting markets not always the best indicator (brexit and trump for example!) but hey...

    Even after the latest events in the Commons, I don't think it matters what happens. The public have had enough of the Tories and will vote to remove them later this year, rather than voting for Labour. It's a reversal of the situation in the late 70s where the public weren't really voting for Thatcher, they just wanted Labour out.

    That isn't very much and if the policy direction is basically the same ,what's the difference ?

    I worry that we are focusing on one seat in the country and conflating it as much as possible. I agree with Emily's take on the situation, I am really concerned about the extreme left wing attitude and their behavior. The Conservative party have as many problems but the press don't cover it, I agree that journalist get bored but we do have a very right wing.press.

      Every economic metric shows if your middle, professional or working class your better off under Labour
      And
      Averaging out debt repayment and borrowing even after removing Covid over all periods of Labour government they borrowed less than the Tories and repayed more by a considerable margin.

      See that was true prior to the last election as well, although since becoming leader KS has managed to almost bankrupt the party due to the huge drop in membership and the fact Labour are now more reliant on party donations from business than they were under the previous leader who had a huge memberships subs at his disposal.@@SlowhandGreg
