    I watched another channel this morning with his new Titan. He actually was going back and forth on a 2” root! It WAS working like a saw…amazing!

    I’m pretty sure it was my post you saw on the ck2610 owners group. I don’t think there is a better stump bucket out there. I’ve dug out some 1000lb plus rocks with this thing and I keep thinking Im going to bend or break a tooth but they are still straight and unscathed. Very well built for being 175lbs. Im glad you did a review.

    I built one very similar. I cut out some of the back plate for a window to be able to see the end of the bucket. Much improved. NIce video.

    The serrated edges help when digging under the root and will saw off the root

    I’m in upstate ny as well. Same brush, best attachment for this stuff is root grapple. Put bottom tines in ground and push. Comes right out. Close grapple and take to burn pile. Man has to use what he’s got though. More than one way to do things. I want a stump bucket too though. Thinking it might dig a trench for French drain since I don’t have backhoe. Great video and great review!

      Way cheaper solution than a backhoe attachment but the stump bucket won't be as clean.

      I have the bad boy 4025. I wanted the 4035 but they didn’t have the non cab model. I have a root grapple and backhoe. I’m clearing 8 acres on Sacandaga and I am going to grab this stump bucket right now. More in my arsenal. I’m slowly learning that you can’t have too many implements. Thanks for the review.

    Looks good.
    I Hhve the MTL Long tooth stump bucket. Got it for 500 bucks in 20’. It’s too big for my 2025r but still works in certain situations. I have the Artillian stump bucket too. For driving in and under the big one is effective.

    In Western, NY. Recently purchased 64 acres and in the process of removing buck brush and approximately 200 dead ash trees. Had someone come in with forestry mulcher and still more to do. Was thinking about purchasing a used excavator and finishing the work I have left and selling it. Have seen the Titan stump bucket and was thinking about one, but it seems like they are never in stock. Thanks for showing the Tomahawk you purchased and the work that you did with it. Would be a cheaper alternative the purchasing an excavator.

    • @upstategearheads
      @upstategearheads  Рік тому

      It's certainly cheaper than purchasing an excavator, but depending on the size of the stumps it will most likely take much more time than the excavator will. When we built my dad's 50x60 garage we had to remove 92 Tamaracks and the stumps were large enough that it made more sense to rent an excavator for the week

    You might want to think about welding some expanded metal to your grill guard before your radiator gets harpooned by a branch. :-)

    You have to use those serrated teeth like a saw, and it will through those roots there’s a technique to make this tool effective patience is the key. If you dig into the dirt and you go back-and-forth with the tractor, it will break up those roots. There’s a reason why those serrations are there. to let the teeth do the work so you don’t put stress on the loader because you can break the pins

    Just a "side-note" ,What kind of fuel are you running; /= sounds like a combination of stale diesel, lighter fluid ,& stale watered-down "rot-gut" gas-o-hol. I have a "old-timer" 3 banger indirect "die-zezal" that is only 1/3 a " clangy-bangy-rattler" that is 35years young with 1700hours. With 2 newer "jobs" @ 6years old & 1100hours combined with one a 3 & the other a 4 cylinder ( both turbocharged), they are hard to tell IF they are "die-zezles" ; since they are quieter than a "church-mouse's". Been thinking about one of these "smaller big 25hp " tractors but that "NOISE" would drive me crazy! Liked that "handy-dandy" bucket.Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

      I've thought about that.... A friend down the road has an older chipper/shredder that I've used before behind my tractor to feed wood chips into his motocross track, but the stumps are going to be too large to fit into it and unfortunately I don't have the time to cut every stump apart and feed them one at a time. I'd love to though!

  • @daddio7249

    You need both, a tooth bar on your bucket to take down the smaller stuff then switch to the stump bucket to get the larger stuff after the small stuff is cleared away.

      Right, so how exactly would I have gotten under the stump with a grapple? Not to mention it was 1/4 the cost, and I do not have 3rd function installed yet making the grapple Route much more expensive

    • @CantankerousOB
      @CantankerousOB Рік тому +1

      @@upstategearheads the poor man's third function is running hydraulic lines from the rear remote to the grapple. Tons of videos here on YT about that. Those weren't stumps, they were shrubs. If your small tractor couldn't grab them and pull them straight out of the ground, you use the root rakes on the bottom to scoop them out.
