Rbi salary is more than IAS. Less power than IAS but more peace of mind and easier tension free life
Money is a factor people say is only relevant till a limit and after that the fact if you're happy in the job or not matters more.
I guess it's different for different people but at the start of a career, I guess everybody wants everything like great job, great salary, great promotions, great job security.
The thing is needs and wants change as we go along and you can never know what you might want the most after 5-10 years down the road.
So if it excites you enough NOW, then go for it. For whatever reason it may be.

Even though my current CTC is higher than what Grade b gives, I am still preparing. Why? Because of stability and respect. Both are important to me and it is not there in my current role.

You have no idea about rbi gr b direct recruitment. It's not a just a banking job. it's a platform where you will get a chance to break the middle class wall . From here you shall get a chance in IMF , WORLD BANK, DEPUTATION IN MINISTRY OF FiNANCE, and even selection in higher post in any private sector bank. In other senerio most of the time selected candidate wants to stay here in rbi.

I find the comment sections are very unique and diversified but also i find it quite peculiar whenever i go through the videos relating the job profiles,power,exposures,perks,opportunities of some top tier jobs in India...people literally make the atmosphere as per with the great " The Lincoln-Douglas debates "....but the irony is somehow people find it entertaining while promoting some exquisite posts and degrading some other professions with some wide known facts as comparison to those which they consider the best....
its like the story where each and every part of a body tries to proclaim that
"I AM THE MOST IMPORTANT PART AND WITHOUT ME YOU WON'T EVEN LAST A SECOND"....
each and every profession has a part to play and like the jigsaw puzzle even if a single piece gone missing it will ruin the whole picture...
i know..even if i shout out loud...i can't convince each and every person.. but at least we all should pay respect to each and every profession there are...
and maybe people will ask who are you to say how should we evaluate these and that...
maybe you are right.. i have been there in those competitive exams...cracked 2 of them..now serving one of the largest PSB in India and have friends who are serving in some prominent sectors...but these things...pride,power,fame.. these scenarios change when you step into that domain..its an abyss..

The raw truth is, in a third-world country like India you need power and even low posts in CGL can give you that which RBI will never be able to give, now the important question that arises why do you need power, why can you not live with a job like RBI, I will tell you why, from local gas dealer to post office to police station to hospital, if you need to get something in done you will need influence, I remember during the corona days, one of my relative who is an ex-banker(SBI) was suffering from covid and needed a bed, he has a hell lot of money, he tried everywhere from great private hospitals to government ones no luck, at last, a friend of mine who is a newly joined Sub-Inspector of Police just made a call and immediately a bed was available at a prestigious XYZ private hospital in our city, now just imagine the same a family member is dying, he might be your dad/mom/brother/sister anything, will you do a job that will not have any influence? let me narrate another story, this is back when I was doing my BTech(3rd Sem) 2015 and our stupid college suddenly said that fees will no more be accepted via cheque and we need to submit a demand draft since only one day was left and exams were already knocking at my door, I went to the bank where my account is present(PNB) and requested them for a demand draft but unfortunately, the manager was absent and the person in charge said he was not having "key" or something like that or some permission to issue a draft and it will only be possible the next day but I had to submit that very day, I happened to know a guy who lives in my society, quite an old guy, who worked for Income Tax as an assistant, he was also present that day in that very branch, he asked me my problem, I narrated it to him, he asked the person in charge to issue a draft stating that I am his relative, I don't know how but things changed infront of me, the person responsible for that branch asked me wait, now here is what he did, he called his head office took some permission from there, got himself a temporary key to issue a draft and made the draft for me, now think for youself, these are two very random incidents that happened to me, imagine what everyone goes through everyday, in India it is difficult to walk even a mile, decision is yours to make, money/respect on paper are something very superficial. Take decisions judiciously.

@@AnupamKumar-qr2vz 2nd case ka jo fallacy tumne bataya hay woh irrelevant hay, rbi kiu agar khud tum pnb ka scale 2 officer ban jaoge tab vhi woh kam kar doge, but the vice-versa is not possible, kabi income tax dept mein jana samajh jaoge, or try going into a police station, you'll understand how much a rbi badge helps and how much an income tax badge/gst badge/cbi badge/customs badge/ed badge helps.
