    A few weeks ago we saw this simple and beautiful bun while scrolling through Instagram on an account called "brownhairedbliss" / brownhairedbliss As soon as we saw this "flip through topsy tail" technique, we knew we wanted to try it. My daughter is a dancer, so dance hairstyles and ballet buns are a huge part of our life. ;) Sometimes it can be a struggle to put all of her long hair up, and we get tired of our usual bun makers, donut buns, and sock buns. A standard or braided bun (wrapped around the top of the ponytail) always requires using tons of bobby pins and elastics and can be a pain to take out. So, we were super excited to see that this bun is quick and easy, and that it only requires using one ponytail holder and zero bobby pins!
    She tested this bun one afternoon while doing all sorts of trampoline tricks, and it held up and stayed in extremely well (which is quite amazing considering it is only being held together with one hair tie.)
    Of course, this bun isn't only for dancers. This updo hairstyle could be worn for many casual occasions such as school, for sports, for cheer leading, gymnastics, to work, to the beach, etc. This could also be worn for more formal occasions; church, weddings, prom, homecoming, communions, recitals, flower girls, etc.
    P.S. Watch to the end of the video to see how to take this bun out and for some tips and tricks.

    Thank you for posting how to take the bun out! When I saw the original post on Facebook I liked it, but I didn't want to ever try it because I wasn't sure how to take it out. Thank you for showing me how, now I'll definitely do this hairstyle for sure. Thank you! Thank you! :D

    this is awesome! Thanks or sharing! I've always had problems with buns and I hated using all those bobby pins because my hair so long as well. I'll definitely try this out sometime!

    So beautiful
    I'm 34 and I remember my mum using the Topsy Tail in my hair but she only ever pulled all the hair thru. I'm definetly going to try this.
    Since I was 15 iv had short hair and my in-laws don't think I can grow my hair but I'm proving them wrong.. lol so far I have it 1cm above my back bra strap and can put it in a pony tail, Half Bun with bits spiking out & a plait on each side (I call these country plaits)
    It gets very hot here in summer in Australia which is why my hair will be up alot.

    this is beautiful..I would take each section, braid or rope twist then secure end and pull through. I wonder if that would work..

    nice but pls tell how to get that nice texture of hair. my daughter has very dry & thin hair. even after oil or conditioner she doesnot get this kind of texture.pls suggest sm natural ways :)

    • @hair4myprincess
      @hair4myprincess  8 років тому

      Sorry, but I don't have a great answer. It is mostly just her natural hair texture! I have found that coconut oil helps a little bit, but some hair is just naturally dry and thin. Good luck!

      Try some thin oils like almond oil. Try a thin leave in conditioner (like a spray).

      I have the same issue. After washing my daughter's hair (at night) I use a leave in conditioner (Gardiner Frutrice) and then do a loose braid to keep it from getting tangled. In the morning her hair is perfect to work with. It lasts until her next shampoo. I hope that helps you.

      My hair was the same, very dry and breaking. I increased my water to 2 liters a day, I also changed my diet to include fruits and vegetables. I do take a multivitamin.... But my hair is very Shinya d healthy now. 😊

      +Vegan Michelle You could also try a shampoo called shea moisture.... it doesn't strip the hair of its natural oil...
