Love when they do a Bluegrass number, it allows Reeb to work the ,41 000-18 hard. Who needs a D-28, or a five for that matter, these two do this standard better than a host of full bands can. And Bill Monroe who set the standard for this song, would be very pleased, Anybody should be, marvelous!
for the record, Reeb’s 000-18 is a 1944
@@DeepEndSessions All I can say is what she told me the two times we discussed the guitar. I am a 44 vintage and think I would have remembered. Still it could be false memory, and I can find no other source, so will just say war time vintage, and fabulous sounding Martin. Thanks for posting this.
@@RTRDick not to argue, but I’ve spent alot of time with that guitar and have looked up the serial #. it’s a ’44 with ebony rod in the neck. great sound
@@DeepEndSessions Yes I believe you now, I must have misconstrued what Reeb said, I was pretty nervous talking with her. She did mention finding it in a music shop and buying it, what a find! Sorry for the confusion, will get the vintage right next time. Thanks.

Caleb, I love the look and the sound of your mandolin. Will you tell me about it please? I had a Hoffner mandolin about 25 years ago. I went through a divorce and sold that mandolin to a friend who always admired it when we played together. She had a "beginner" model of some kind that didn't sound or look near as good as the Hoffner, and was not as easy to play either. I wish I still had that mandolin, but all these years later I know she has been enjoying it.
