This is gorgeous! So well crafted yet feeling totally natural. I love it!
I would try to get a a middle eastern keyboardist to do a performance. I can do one of them taking advantage of the microtonality
So beautiful. Been longing for this for a while now, if it were more in the $2k-3k range would buy the instant it's available.
Hi Brock - the run of 200 keyboards we're doing this year is starting in march and if you're one of the first backers, around $3k is exactly what it'll cost. That's for early backers only - pop your email into the signup page at www.lumatone.io and we'll be keeping in touch with everyone there as to how to keep track of when the campaign launches. Thanks for the kind words :)
What a nice contemporary toccata - WOW 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🙏

:D
I will buy this immediately!! I signed up for the E-mailing list. Eager to try it!!
So happy to hear you're on board Zheanna! We'll be emailing out information on the campaign very soon.
And oh boy did she buy the fuck out of this, and created one of the greatest EPs of all time.
Someday, no matter how long it takes to save up and afford, I WILL get my hands on one of these, and I WILL upload as much music written for it as I possibly could. I hope to become the best lumatone player in the world someday. (I'm being fully serious).
Unfortunately, it is likely that I won't save up enough in time to be one of the early backers, but me buying this instrument is a matter not of if, but of when.
good for you! even if you cant get one at the moment surely you could practice for it in some other way (though only way I could think of is turning a launchpad sideways lol)
literally same!!!
If you lie, cheat, and steal enough, you'll buy one soon.
I love your determination! It might be possible to start experimenting with a computer keyboard. I don't know what software will allow it, but it should be possible. I have myself programmed a little hacky thing that allowed me to play around with isomorphic layouts and sound synthesis.
Great composition and performance! The keyboard looks fantastic
I'm saving up for one of these so I can put it next to my giant USS Enterprise model hehe
Very Juicy! This will be my next instrument!
Can someone please pay him to make more?
Oh microtonality....sugar for my ears and now, also for my eyes ;)
31 is the future❤
We need a spotify channel dedicated to lumatone microtonal pieces
Beautiful sonic exploration!
Wow, wow! I am so excited and quite astonished, not just because of the keyboard (it looks so awesome btw!), but also how Benton plays with harmony and the odd time signature. Couldn't believe it came from your hands at first... I play/improvise the keyboard a _little_ bit in a similar way. Except for the microtonal chords (maybe the most important bit)... oh man I wish! :)
Beautiful piece, exquisitely played. This keyboard looks extremely difficult.
This is lit
it's lit, fam
dig it. just lately i'm learning about alternative tuning and scales
awesome! :-)
This is good stuff!
The lumatone can have different sound effects?
I'm very excited to see this keyboard in schools (the educated ones, that is)
That's cool, because a music school can afford one and it gives a chance for a lot of students who can't to get their hands on it.
Very nice. I tried it at 1.75 and it was awesome too.
Great🤩
i quite enjoyed this. : )
Lumatone + Jacob Collier ensemble?
The similarity is not obvious so I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but this reminded me of Tom Raybould's "birth", from the SF movie "the machine":

'd e f g e c d' anyone?! no? awww.... :(
This song sounds like crap. Way to not sell product
it’s microtonal music dude, there we have deal with 31 notes in octave. Yeah it’s sounds like out of tune but it’s actually in tune, firstly you must find out about microtonal music and have it sounds(not like in video)
@@4apla1n I understand the concept of microtonal music I also understand that my ear tells me it sounds like s***. Perhaps that is the failing of my ear and perhaps that is failing to use microtones in a way that actually benefits the song at hand.. but I'm not going to lie and pretend that this sounds pleasant
@@dividebyzero9530 Too much simplistic music has clipped your ears.
is it tuned like the Fokker Organ?
Yes in that it's 31-ET tuning just like the Fokker Organ. Lumatone lets you tune it any way you like - this Lumatone mapping that Benton is playing is modelled after Bosanquet which shares similarities with the Fokker Organ but I believe is slightly different. In any case, Lumatone can be mapped however you like!
@@lumatone I suppose the tuning is 31 tet but, yeah, I meant the layout
edit: it's also a very cool keyboard, I hope to get one day
