Actually, if you end up shooting the HMS Prince enough without killing it, it WILL light on fire and start sailing around while burning. I ended up fighting a burning HMS Prince while sailing a low level Jackdaw. I killed it, but when it was around halfway dead, it lit on fire. It was incredible.

To this day I still wished that we could've boarded those Legendary ships, I know they're extremely OP to have as one of your ships much less even try to take the crew, or even their supplied but just for the sake of having an epic sword fight on a freaking legendary ship is just icing on the cake for an already epic battle against these things
62swordsmen I know this is late but you actually can cheese these fights and board the ship, like at a certain distance when you first activate the fight you keep the ship going and you have to let got of the wheel and then the ship will charge you but not shoot, and if you time it right it'll pull up right beside you and you can jump on, and it's an auto win because once you go back to your ship then it's one shot to finish it
It's too slow.. Notice how when you use man o war during the mission with Roberts.. You get to shred lots of enemies but your ass is too slow to move.. Brig is fine but a schooner is way more fun.. Notice how in rouge you get a schooner, upgrade it to high levels.. You deal tons of damage as well as moving fast.
14:56 This is the most terrifying part. An enormous ship on fire with her sails destroyed, on the middle of the night, fires at you with burning cannonballs, with music that only makes it even more terrifying.
I remember everyday for a solid month after getting home from school trying to fight these ships, and the first time i beat one of them I was so ecstatic that I had beat it, I told my mom about it and she didn't seem interested, I went to school the next day and told all my friends, they didn't seem to care much either but I got home that day and went after the next one and beat it, and the next one and beat it until I got to the one with the two ships, and that was the most difficult one because I was so used to fighting one thing at a time, I eventually beat it but I was so happy when I did, my emotions were just amazing, I was no more then 11 or 12 but I was so happy when I did it Sorry this video just took me way back, I'm now 18 have a job and looking for my own place so this just brought back memories

I am forever traumatized by the El Impoluto ever since I first played, just the fact that it’s a terrifyingly large warship and the fact it moves at the speed of sound makes a terrorizing combo
These legendary ships speak for themselves: LEGENDARY. To me, these boss fights are on par with Shadow of the Colossus'. Just straight up epic and breath-taking.
@@RelentlessKnight The British legendary ships rely on sort of gimmick like ghost ships or tag team. The Spanish legendary ones have no gimmick whatsoever, they are just incredibly strong ships commanded by an incredibly competent crew. I found La Dama Negra and El Impoluto far more scarier than the HMS Prince or the Blood Brothers.
@@jorgebersabe293 El Impoluto’s gimmick is that it runs faster than a brig and rams its enemies. La Dama Negra is armoured with steel plates. Even the spanish ships in this game have several gimmicks that first rates irl would never have done. The only normal ships here really are the twins. Not only do they look like normal first rates but they’re supporting each other in close range instead of going alone on lone patrols, something first rates irl always do.
@@retardcorpsman Regardless, the Legendary Ships' crews are essentially the best of the best of their respective empires, considering their fearsome reputation.
If you're seeing this now random internet user it work on almost every legendary ship i destroyed HMS Prince with this strategy but then impoluto ruined this strategy;-;
Whoever designed those ships must be a genius. Seriously: -A Man O' War with a battering ram so strong, it can destroy a prototype ship capable of sinking entire fleets with just 3 charges, and handling and speed so great, it can outrun any ship. - A Man O' War whose mortars can devastate ships in seconds and cannons that can easily shatter their body, and a hull virtually impervious to damage. - Two Men O' War with powerful cannons and a tactic that can bring even the strongest of ships to their knees. - A very powerful Man O' War whose appearance sends shivers to the spines of whatever pirate sees it. The captains of those ships must be also some of the very best from the Spanish Navy and Royal Navy.
Too bad they all get absolutely shredded by fully upgraded jackdaw. Hell, just a fully upgraded ram is enough. God forbid ubisoft make something challenging in their game
@@avelus5984 It isn't, his ramming charge can be dodged easily and if you have stunning barrels, you don't even need to dodge at all. You can ram him(her?) yourself and of course the mortar spam is a safe way to dish out tonnes of damage with no danger to yourself tldr: it's easy, just stay out of it's way
that's what makes borderlands a great game, you can fight the bosses all over again, just get out after killing them and come back their again, plus they randomly give good rewards
I remember on my early Jackdaw days that I managed to beat a level 36 Man o'war and had this elated feeling of innocent satisfaction accompanied with a smug thinking It was the start of my conquest to being the dominator of the sea. I managed to beat it with only getting my health to half and felt a swift surge of pride inside. I looked at the map and I decided to fight the northwest legendary ship with the mindest that all ships could be beaten with only strategy alone. I went far, saw the menacing display in the distance, ignored it, until I inspected it and saw its level almost twice the strongest ship I've fought so far. Thinking how glorious it would be to manage to beat it with my jackdaw being so underlevelled I had such a huge smile as I started approaching it. In a single snap that smug quickly turned into shock after getting rammed once and the jackdaw was already on the brink of death despite taking cover from spain's legendary ship, split seconds after, shock turned into despair. Realizing how grave of a mistake this was I tried fleeing, but seeing El Impoluto approach me from behind seemingly more than twice the speed of my jackdaw I just closed my eyes as I was fully aware this would be my very first doom of many facing one of the true dominators of the sea.
Lmao the other twin goes nuts if loosing the other? I didnt realize. I just focused on one then killed the other. Worked well enuff. Best tactic was to go around one of the twins so they can only hit from one side: Finish them off from the back.
This gave me a lot of nostalgia. I remember playing through the game a being so happy when I beat the campaign. Also the amazing feeling of being captain of your own ship and sailing the open sea was amazing. Definitely one of the better assassin creed games
Mr_ Garry's I upgrade my ram to max during the fight with impoluto. To be fair its kind of easy, just ram it head on and fire motor and chain shot at the same time
TRiCKz TRiCKz i think you are talking about el impoluto if so just do this, every time he comes to ram you use the chain shot to stun him then pull up beside and heavy shot da fuck outta him
during the twins battle, i was wondering what was going with the captain's head Captain is probably like "OH NO THE FEARLESS SUNK LETS LIGT OURSELVES ON FIRE
Having kindling stuff attached to his hat that go all the way into his beard...akes him look like a demon...u can check it on that memory where edward goes look for medicines with him and he almost scares bonnet to death with it..
Lord Player you wrong EL impoluto in Spanish EL is a reference to a MAN if you ever played ghost recon you will see that all the man called EL like EL YAYO EL sueno Etc LA means a reference to WOMEN like the LA DAMA NEGRA which means THE BLACK LAIDY which is a ship in the game
I remember that I played this game when I was 15 in my 360, and being the little shit I was I discovered a pretty broken exploit for this fights. When you're reaching the area of the fight you have to be careful of the distance, I don't remember exactly at how many meters the cutscene starts, but when you're reaching the limit you simply let go of the wheel. After the cutscene plays the other ship just idles because you entered the "fight" without controlling the ship. Then you kill everybody on board, once done that you take control of the Jackdaw and the legendary ship will enter the defeated state, like it was completely damage. It's a pretty OP exploit.
Still works but u have to do it quick when it’s front of the jackdaw so u can easily jump on it. U can’t climb the legendary ships idk why. Once ur on board, kill everyone including snipers, climb the wooden flag pole thing and jump off into water and swim back to jackdaw
Tips: -HMS Prince is one of the easiest to destroy as it's just a Man O'War with just a fog to cover it's location. Just start attacking like a normal Man O'War -La Dama Negra is heavily armored and mortars and normal shots deal no damage. You can't even see where the mortars will hit. It's weakness is it's slow and it's back because it has no armor. With the Jackdaw being maneuverable, you can move and fire at it's back. -The sister ships Royal Sovereign and HMS Fearless work together to take you down, often charging towards you with a gap in the middle so when they are just about to pass you, you'll be met with a hail of cannon fire. They're also very quick so they can circle back and repeat. When the other sinks, the other is engulfed in flames and begins to fire heavy shots, and they'll also begin to ram you. The best way to defeat them is focus on one ship until they're about to sink, then focus on the other one and once you sinl that ship, the other will be easier to deal with. -El Impoluto is one of the hardest as it's very fast and maneuverable, equipped with a ram at the front to deal massive damage, not to mention very powerful cannons as well. One ram can tale away almost one health bar. The best way to defeat this ship is to pray you win
I love how all the ships test yours to make sure you've gotten every upgrade and know how to use it El Impoluto? i hope you got barrels and mortars The twin ships? I hope you got armour The Dama Negra? I hope you've upgraded your guns The HMS Prince? I hope you've got more than mortars side note, getting chased by El Impoluto is actually terrifying. The speed on her o.o
There’s actually a cheatsy way to beat the El Impoluto. Release the wheel before the cutscene (starts at 570 meters). It then charges at you (shoot at it when it gets close, because it’s actually turned away before it hits the Jackdaw), as soon as it hits the Jackdaw, you can jump on the ship. Once you do that kill everyone on the ship. Then go back on the Jackdaw, and it drains the El Impoluto’s health to 1%. You can do it with the Royal Sovereign and HNS Fearless. The only problem is they actually stop sailing, but the waves push them to you.
Anyone else always get lightning storms when these battles happen? I love how cinematic it feels when the mountainous waves are around you while fighting gigantic ships.
Captured small insignificant Schooner: "Don't destroy it! We might use this ship. Use it to repair Jackdaw" Destroyed legendary ships with more advanced weapon: "Nah we're good"
responding to an 1 month old comment.. but imagine the people in this man o' war. i probably think el impoluto has like 100 people in it. if they would try to take it over impoluto fleet would end up actually taking the jackdaw. and yes i know its a joke :)
it is easy if you combine the chaser cannon´s slow effect and an upgraded naval ram (the higher level the better), in case of the impoluto, once the ship hits you with its naval ram (or failed to do so), it will try to gain some distance to do it again, you can easily slow it with the chaser cannon and ramming it, it deals a good amount of damage and the ship will still try to gain some distance to ram you but you keep slowing it with the chaser cannons (the slow effect also affects their turning speed so you can easily stay behind the ship so you dont have to worry too much on facing the broadside cannons).
Hms prince had alot of potential to be a very scary ship, imagine it after taking some dmg it starts laying mortars and fire barrels to create distance between it and u pursuing it then in the fog it is free to shift around, using only lighting (assuming there a storm cuz that be hecka cool) and maybe seeing one of the masts and flag through the top of the fog breifly to disappear. another thing to deter rams would be the section fire broadsides it had to do some sustain dmg to tell ye to fak off. (and punish people staying in the broadside after the initial volly) imagine the prince vanishes into the fog and suddenly you get getting section fired by prince not know where it is or when it'll fire and u have to track the direction the shot came from or spot a crewmate in the crows nest high above the fog disappear before they fire and possibly delay you with blind mortar fire that gets louder the closer u get telling u to be carful and if u too slow or if it dissaperes for a long period of time you see multiple eerie lights that turn out to be the flame of fire barrels that do not have the swivel shot icon show up until just before u see and ram into em with blind mortar fire u hear the distant kaboom and the sound of spahing water getting louder or quiter depending on ur heading and could be used a a limited search tool (hear water=nuthin hear explotions=hit) Hell maybe even having edward climb onto the Jacdaws mast to use his telescope to try spotin anything MAYBE (not sure how it would work in practice) essentially in lighting strikes and brief/low/thin fog u and their position are revealed shortly and can attempt to engage or try waiting em out to see what they would do like prepareing a trap, like barrels galore and changing position and if barrels explode or guns are shot u can mortar the general area (mortars will not highlight the opponent) if you both try to engage toi be a slugout, if one chases and the other one is cautious it could lead to a trap, if both cautious then both loose track of the other, hell maybe explodiong firebarrels could lead to some sorta misdirection tactic
I definitely struggled the most with the twin ships. El Impoluto was really difficult at first but becomes trivially easy once you figure out that chain shot interrupts her ram.
Me: why is that ship coming so fast towards me...? ( Didn't knew about ram that time) After 2 seconds..... Me: Okay.....i got it...... ( Jackdaw sinks)
Played this game as a 9 year old ,never really knew how to upgrade my jackdaw to max level i just took on these ships with a half upgraded jackdaw ,my first legendary ship i defeated was the la dama negra ,i headed into that fight with no strategy and somehow found out that its weakness was the rear as a 9 year old kid that made me happy and gave me Confidence to take on the others sadly the El Impoluto was too difficult mainly due to the fact that i didn't know how to upgrade my ship to the max,now i revisited this game as a 18 year old with more knowledge on the game and i was able to upgrade my jackdaw to the max and went for the la dama considering it was my first legendary i sank and i used the same strategy to sink it ,The El impoluto on the other hand i found that its weakness was the chain shot as it slows the ship down making it easy to do damage to it ,again thanks this video really made me feel like a little boy again being afraid of these ships 😅
There’s nothing more satisfying than the sound of a legendary ship’s hull cracking and droning as it sinks fast to the bottom of the ocean, all while your crew is cheering.
HMS Prince still has the best entrance. Entering to the smoke and suddenly seeing a silhouette a huge ship gives the feeling that this is no ordinary fight
I'll never forget how I got into a fight with the twin legendary ships when all of a sudden a storm came and got more than half of their HP while I was just sailing nearby avoiding killer waves and tornadoes. Then I only had to finish them and catch my reward
I remember when I was younger and dumber I would always go on a Spanish killing spree in Havana because my dumbass didn’t know how plundering works and didn’t know how I randomly got 65/70 metal

Ah yes, the memories are flowing back. I've beaten each of these at least twice over....I've played the whole game 6 times. My ONLY complaint about this game: I wish you could buy bigger ships to use.

I did terrible mistake and confronted El Impoluto with very weak ship. It´s kamikaze attack scared me so much I watched my back with every ship - in case it will use the same tactics. Priceless! x)
MrTesla1231 yes the impoluto was pretty easy but i couldnt take down the brothers in arm cause i kept judt focusing one and not the other, i only did it about a week later when i saw this tactic
12:20 funny thing is that those were actually the easiest to beat to me, the fearless and the sovereign come togheter cause is pretty easy to sink one each i just swapped damaging both ships to the red bar, when one of the ships went impoluto i went impolunope
On the economic aspect of these naval battles: Edward not only sunk the most powerful ships in the Caribbean Sea but he also made a dent in the economies of Spain (Spanish Empire) and United Kingdom (The British Empire) .Legendary ships are First rate ships of the line (Men'o'war) , which to give a modern equivalent ship would be an Aircraft carrier ; both being the most powerfull and expensive ship that a maritime nation can build at there time . With all of this in mind , now exclude them out of the ecuation : all the resources , manpower and money that both of them empires poured in bulding them titans of the sea ,losing not just the ships but also the trade routes that them behemoths were most like operating and protecting and to put salt on the injury all the precious cargo they were transporting . An amazing feat like this is the stuff of legends , just as our Captain Edward James Kenway was .

To this day I still wished that we could've boarded those Legendary ships, I know they're extremely OP to have as one of your ships much less even try to take the crew, or even their supplied but just for the sake of having an epic sword fight on a freaking legendary ship is just icing on the cake for an already epic battle against these things
The everyone will just have el impoluto's and La Dama Negra's
62swordsmen I know this is late but you actually can cheese these fights and board the ship, like at a certain distance when you first activate the fight you keep the ship going and you have to let got of the wheel and then the ship will charge you but not shoot, and if you time it right it'll pull up right beside you and you can jump on, and it's an auto win because once you go back to your ship then it's one shot to finish it
Yeah, it’s a bit anticlimactic how after such a cool battle they just sink, no boarding or anything

If you're seeing this now random internet user it work on almost every legendary ship i destroyed HMS Prince with this strategy but then impoluto ruined this strategy;-;
Whoever designed those ships must be a genius.
Seriously:
-A Man O' War with a battering ram so strong, it can destroy a prototype ship capable of sinking entire fleets with just 3 charges, and handling and speed so great, it can outrun any ship.
Well, then I must congratulate you, because they are no pushovers. Especially _El Impoluto._

I never tought naval fighting games were so fun until I played this
AC black flag was the first to really make a fun 3d naval game
Lol
@ANONYMOUS think they patched it a while back, crew doesn't spawn anymore
Still works but u have to do it quick when it’s front of the jackdaw so u can easily jump on it. U can’t climb the legendary ships idk why. Once ur on board, kill everyone including snipers, climb the wooden flag pole thing and jump off into water and swim back to jackdaw
@@TheRealFredbearPlush but most importantly dont forget to climb to the tallest peak on the boat and do a sexy jump of the top
@toprak_doodles hahahah yeah
Tips:
-HMS Prince is one of the easiest to destroy as it's just a Man O'War with just a fog to cover it's location. Just start attacking like a normal Man O'War
-La Dama Negra is heavily armored and mortars and normal shots deal no damage.
Thank you for your comment :)

AC4 Black Flag was a very well made game indeed !
The only problem is they actually stop sailing, but the waves push them to you.

the hardest one is impoluto
Henrique José Ikr Bloody hell I would've died had it not been for an accidental ram.
Henrique José i beat that one on my first try but gave up on the twin ships
ThatLazy Dud3 THE FUCKING RAM IS THE ANNOYING SHIT anything else is pretty easy
it is easy if you combine the chaser cannon´s slow effect and an upgraded naval ram (the higher level the better), in case of the impoluto, once the ship hits you with its naval ram (or failed to do so), it will try to gain some distance to do it again, you can easily slow it with the chaser cannon and ramming it, it deals a good amount of damage and the ship will still try to gain some distance to ram you but you keep slowing it with the chaser cannons (the slow effect also affects their turning speed so you can easily stay behind the ship so you dont have to worry too much on facing the broadside cannons).
Henrique José when I fought it it flew and landed on me
Hms prince had alot of potential to be a very scary ship, imagine it after taking some dmg it starts laying mortars and fire barrels to create distance between it and u pursuing it then in the fog it is free to shift around, using only lighting (assuming there a storm cuz that be hecka cool) and maybe seeing one of the masts and flag through the top of the fog breifly to disappear. another thing to deter rams would be the section fire broadsides it had to do some sustain dmg to tell ye to fak off. (and punish people staying in the broadside after the initial volly)
imagine the prince vanishes into the fog and suddenly you get getting section fired by prince not know where it is or when it'll fire and u have to track the direction the shot came from or spot a crewmate in the crows nest high above the fog disappear before they fire and possibly delay you with blind mortar fire that gets louder the closer u get telling u to be carful and if u too slow or if it dissaperes for a long period of time you see multiple eerie lights that turn out to be the flame of fire barrels that do not have the swivel shot icon show up until just before u see and ram into em
with blind mortar fire u hear the distant kaboom and the sound of spahing water getting louder or quiter depending on ur heading and could be used a a limited search tool (hear water=nuthin hear explotions=hit)
Hell maybe even having edward climb onto the Jacdaws mast to use his telescope to try spotin anything MAYBE (not sure how it would work in practice)
essentially in lighting strikes and brief/low/thin fog u and their position are revealed shortly and can attempt to engage or try waiting em out to see what they would do like prepareing a trap, like barrels galore and changing position and if barrels explode or guns are shot u can mortar the general area (mortars will not highlight the opponent)
if you both try to engage toi be a slugout, if one chases and the other one is cautious it could lead to a trap, if both cautious then both loose track of the other, hell maybe explodiong firebarrels could lead to some sorta misdirection tactic
I definitely struggled the most with the twin ships. El Impoluto was really difficult at first but becomes trivially easy once you figure out that chain shot interrupts her ram.
yeah 2013 was fun because no one knew of any strats to beat them easily :)
The twins for me was too easy, I mean just avoid getting sandwiched, and destroy one of them then the other is no challenge.

When I first faced against El Impoluto I didn’t know what to expect until when it charged at me I lost my shit
El Impuloto Fastest Ship And Hardest Ship
Depends on the way you fight. It can be the hardest, but the Brothers In Arms can be way harder if you take down one without damaging the other
MrTesla1231 yes the impoluto was pretty easy but i couldnt take down the brothers in arm cause i kept judt focusing one and not the other, i only did it about a week later when i saw this tactic
I remember my first encounter with a legendary ship. My ship barely floated and I got destroyed by HMS Fearless and Sovereign... Good times!
Hell yeah ! :D
12:20 funny thing is that those were actually the easiest to beat to me, the fearless and the sovereign come togheter cause is pretty easy to sink one each i just swapped damaging both ships to the red bar, when one of the ships went impoluto i went impolunope
The memories...so many controllers broken
Very interesting comment, thank you
