“We’re not Minneapolis. We’re not even Wilmont!” As someone who grew up just outside Worthington, I was chortling. I started watching for the spoops, gonna keep watching for the nostalgia. *Edit: I have been informed I misheard and it is Wilmar. Still funny.
Man if this was like a City Council Meeting now, there would be a lot more yelling, and a lot more profanity, and probably also getting thrown out of the City Council Meeting.
I'm loving it, but I hope you'll put them in a Playlist. So cool to see everyone collaborating for this one, always exciting to hear from Nash and SF Debris.
I love the whole series but I like these city council meetings the best- it's a fantastic idea how you've layered enough distortion that you can dub in pretty much any script. Also these *feel* like city council meetings I've had to go to for class and other occasions
Holy crap I am gonna need a credits roll at the end of all this. Or maybe an IMDB entry. I love the feel of this. There's so much mounting dread, it's delightful.
@@jfdrac It is a reference to the fact that the voice actor in question not only has the UA-cam channel Ask Lovecraft but is the actual real life mayor of a town in Ohio.
i dunno who edited these but id like to give some advice for future edits or similar projects. A room like these, even if televised, would be recorded via room audio, so it would have to be far from the mic and a bit reverbery. Being vhs also it might be compressed at some point for clarity so the quiet parts wouldnt be lost to the audience. and witha tape as damaged as presented we shouldve had more audio skips. otherwise i like this!
I feel including so much of the repeated city council footage can come off as sloppy with the dubbing , and I feel like you could do more to try and make the dialogue sound more natural, but in concept this is a great method to deliver info to your audience and I am interested in seeing where the story goes! Keep up the good work!
And it's weird - it sounded fine and more messed up via headphones for me, but for some reason came out clear otherwise. I'll be correcting it more when I eventually compile it all together.
I think this will be another AT4W season dealing with another interdimensional being like The Entity and The King of Worms or its completely different story which i like
"We feast upon his work" has me confused. Is this explained later? I'm not the most perceptive, so if there's no spoiler could someone please explain that? Or at least tell me which video to watch?
Presuming you've seen the rest of this since then... ...It's in reference to how the creatures feed on transmission on the UHF bands, thus they feast upon the transmissions from K83FC.
Man, you gotta make the audio wayyyyyyy worse than this to replicate the city council meetings, always sounds like they were in an echo chamber in the middle of a blizzard.
@@AT4W My dad would watch those all the time when I was a kid, its such a core memory even though I have no idea what they were talking about. I was North Dakota side but still very similar vibes.
I think it's because they're using footage from an actual city council meeting, so they had to obscure not just the people involved but also their mouths to make the dialogue fit better.
I appreciate that a lot of work went into setting this up-- but the dialogue is so very bad. Not bad enough to be funny, but bad enough that it really stands out that this isn't how people talk at City Council meetings. All the work that went into creating the look of the scene is completely undermined by the writing.

My grandparents lived in Minnesota....near Wilmont 😂 They had a lakeside cabin. I loved it.

Ironically it actually is footage from Wilmar.

Nah, they're still usually pretty boring and dry, like school board meetings by and large.
Between this and the Adult Swim Pibby takeover this April fools day seems to have a horror trend I dig it
I'm loving it, but I hope you'll put them in a Playlist.

I’m checked there’s already a playlist

I imagine it helps that the guy playing the mayor actually is a mayor

Very good! Audio might actually be too good for the video quality. But I love this stuff!
I’d wish they skipped this meeting already. Galaxy Detective was supposed to be on 10 minutes ago!
I'm binging this whole series. 💜
Ahh shoot someone poured Soup on the VHS again
This is some of the best content I’ve seen Lewis do in awhile and I’m literally here for it! Great job!
I have never been this invested in a city council meeting! I hope the snow ploughs will be okay for this season at least!
Loving it so far. The captions in the corner had my focus. Sympathies to Channel 83 lol.
Sooo, did the guy supplying the voice of the city councilman head get that job because in real life he is a mayor?
Is this a refernce to something?
@@jfdrac It is a reference to the fact that the voice actor in question not only has the UA-cam channel Ask Lovecraft but is the actual real life mayor of a town in Ohio.
@@jasonulysess3652 All I can say is that town is mysteriously destroyed one day...they brought it on themselves by electing a guy that into Lovecraft
I think someone should call the Hulk if they need help finding snow plows i hear hes really good with that stuff but i did hear that from a friend.
I love this SO much. You have no idea how much.
"They have embraced us and so will you" anyone else catch that?
2:01 I watched a little past this then “wait roll that back” 🤣 *They are with us now*
It's conceptually very strange to look at something and think "i wish the audio quality was worse"
Fortunately, I went and did just that for the video that combined everything and fixed stuff like that. =)
@@AT4W Oh dang, I'll go check that out
Man, all these snippets of info add more questions even as they expand just how far this is reaching within the town and those affected by it.
This is really cool! I'm enjoying this a lot :D
Really starting to get interesting already.
Love the vibe of these
There's no way Daniels would talk like Kelsey Grammar, he's a country bumpkin if ever I seen one!
Maybe he was a big fan of Frasier?

On the contrary - the footage that I used for the basis of this? All the audio done via the microphones and it was super bass-heavy and blown up.
@@AT4W I was wondering if this was real footage dubbed over,..thought so but wasnt sure
Hey, the first speaker voice was SF Debris.
This feels like a pastiche of the Channel 52 UA-cam thing. Interesting to see where you might go with this…
I'm pretty confident the closer inspiration was the City Council Meeting video from Eventide Media Center.
I love how it says all of these were made on January 4th 1983
Could not pick out SFDebris' voice until the cast list was shown, but now I hear it.
Gotta say, the least realistic part of this series is the city council immediately agreeing to buy the additional snow plows.
“They have embraced us and so will you” ?
Okay, what friggin aliens have put that there?

The plot thickens
3:30 okay 75k is a lot of money, to me and in 1983. How much is that now with inflation?
I think someone did the math and it was about $220,000.
@@AT4W that …is a lot of money.
Must this blessing shield you from the wrath of the Holy Ones & Zeros.
You do horror so well. Actually you do all genres i've seen do well now.
Gotta say, the main Councilman kinda has a Peter Dyneley feel (from Thunderbirds) to his voice.
Alright I'm in. Watched the other 2, feels like a radio show / creeper pasta, if that's still a thing.
You have my attention sir.
This is spooky!
I am NOT okay with that 'And so will you'. T_T
Curiouser and curiouser. . .
Everyone’s thinking it, I’m just saying it: April fools has a horror theming this year, and not just from official sources either
I still can't believe the weather report
So many familiar voices
Audio is a little top clear here, needs to be much more like Viv and Greg's audio from the last video

Excellent

This has nothing to do with a top the 4th wall, it's a secret project that's he's been working on since he annouced it.
...was that SFDebris!?
Is the female voice at the end Allison Pregler? It really sounded like her.
2:23 yummy TV equivalent to radio waves
What's this? Was so confused I accidentally clicked on a wrong Analog horror channel, but damn, this is a nice surprise, Linkara.
Voices should be a bit more grainy
Yeah, that was a criticism I took to heart and I revised it for the all-in-one video. =)
love the static
Happy April fools day
only 5 days between council meetings?
Is this all stock footage? Because I don't know anything about Minnesota and I dunno if "daniels" is a real person. Also HIIIII SFDebris, love you!
The city council meetings footage are from a real city council meeting, with names changed and dubbed over.

The fake VHS interference effect through the whole video is a bit much. It's a little too unpleasant. Probably needs to be toned down next time.

Little of both. The council meeting is from 15 years ago, but still best to obscure it a bit.
