Paris first class lounge: no toilet seat, no food, no drinks, no WiFi…. Yeah, I would wait there, too. Can’t imagine what the rest of the station was like….
Not drinking on a train? It's like not drinking at a party! At least you got some tea down you gullet? Otherwise would not be so cool. Besides, I like drinking most things, for example, I like drinking sausce, it fuels me well. Not drinking on a train? Scary thought!
You begin with a wrong assumption. Grand Voyageur lounges are not First class lounges. It is a lounge for frequent travelers who have the Grand Voyageur card.
You get access to Salon Grand Voyageur if you have a first class Lyria ticket but that’s all. A standard first class TGV Inoui ticket for example does not grant you access. As I travel a lot with SNCF, I have the Grand Voyageur Le Club status, it allows me to use the salons even with a second class TER ticket. But these lounges are really below average, just ok to spend an hour or two if your train is delayed or if you have to wait for a connection. Still better than no nothing I guess but they are often very crowded. At Gare de Lyon, I’d rather go have a drink at Le Train Bleu if I have enough time.

@@Eric-wl3kl That's good advice. I'll check out Le Train Bleu next time I'm at this station!
Markus. I love your videos. They are very informative and enjoyable
Thanks for watching, as always!
Thank you for your vlog this will help me
I'm glad you found it useful!
Will be traveling this exact route to and from Basel in a week. Thank you for this video, quite informative!
Enjoy the trip! The TGV Lyria is a fine product.
Thanks for your video , where do the passengers keep thier luggage ?
I enjoyed watching the episode.. Loved your subtle humorous comments throughout 😊 ❤
Thanks for watching!
When i was in Switzerland a month ago i saw it going by me closely.
Yes, we see them a lot here. I sometimes take the Lyria just between Basel and Zurich.
Surprised to hear you describe Gare du Nord as 'crime infested' - given that it is the Eurostar terminus and also departure point to CDG
I'm pretty sure there were signs everywhere warning of pickpockets.
Btw, do you agree that it's overcrowded at least?

I was already so traumatized by Paris Gare du Nord, I did not want to find out the situation here!
Are strollers allowed in this train in first class?
That one I don't know. Perhaps on the lower floor, but I didn't see as I was only on the upper floor.

Good point! But I do believe I had access thanks to a first class ticket. And I didn't see another lounge specifically for first class.
