Naji is replacing DJ and he’s close as a defender, stronger, and a better shooter.
Think of it this way.. None of them are replacements, the previous players were keeping the spot warm til Klay, Q and, Naji could get here. OR, they aren't replacements because they are upgrades from restructuring

Despite what people say about Klay Thompson the Mavs went and got him not to score 30/40 points a night to just basically help take some of the pressure off Luka and Kyrie which Klay Thompson is completely capable of doing dropping 18 to 20 points a game
Our offense is about to get more dynamic because of klay he’s going to benefit from spot up shots and Motion

Despite what people say about klay this does make the mouths better klay Thompson is still a good shooter that can give you 18 to 25 points a game plus Lukas and Kyrie's 30 this definitely makes the mavs better if we could just get PJ to score more consistently the mavs might have a chance at winning in the finals

People talk about Luka’s “gravity” and it’s real (most blitzed player in the NBA), but we saw OKC and the Clippers (and then Boston) try doing more to stop Kyrie and just accept the damage Luka would do (remembering he was injured) and attack the Mavs that way. Then Boston took away the corner 3.
But what are they going to do with Klay standing out there? You really going to leave him alone to double Luka or help on Kyrie? Forgetting all the shots Klay will make, think about how many more open shots and easier drives Luka and Kyrie will get. Then think about the open looks PJ will get. The lobs the centers will have. Think how much better the bench is now with Naji and Grimes. They’ll give up more points, but their scoring and efficiency is about to become legendary.
