Here in 2023, I often find myself worried about the state of union of my country that I love so much. I feel like so many people these days have forgotten how beautiful our country is and how that beauty lives in the diversity of all of us here. When we come together as brothers and sisters, as a nation, we are the very best this world has to offer. Ray Charles lived through some of the darkest times in our history, and was a participant in the civil rights movement. Just to hear the unconditional love for our nation in his voice in spite of all that, helps restore my faith that one day, hopefully soon, we can all move forward together hand in hand as one unified nation. God has, and always will shed his grace upon the United States of America.
Well said my friend! 🇺🇸They (those who hate America and the enemy within) want us divided! UNITED we are strong ! There’s more of us (We the people) than there are of them and #WeThePeople are more United than ever before! And they KNOW IT!!🇺🇸💪🏼 WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE CURE!!❤️🤍💙
This is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt comments that I have ever read. Those of us who grew up in the 60's during the Civil Rights Movement, it is only by the grace of God that we continue to love America and hold true to its standards. Thank you for such a special heartfelt comment. ❤

The best rendition of this song was by Ray Charles on the t.v. special after the 9/11 attacks...my God that was beautiful...and after the song Ray gave thanks to Jesus because it was that powerful and heartfelt...it still brings tears to my eyes when I recall the 'hush' that filled the air that night.
That's right. Never take for granted how many are willing to die trying to get here. The Florida Straits are the most hazardous current in the world. Some boats are successful, others are intercepted and sadly some are lost. Living in South Florida it's hard to sit on the beach sometimes. You look out and wonder who is out there and are they okay.

The Star-Spangled Banner is a song we sing to the world beyond our borders. America The Beautiful is a song we sing to ourselves. Each is an expression of DEDICATED LOVE.
God do I ever wish that could come true. No more songs celebrating wars. Yes, I know there were "just" wars but we need a song that celebrates the beauty and love of this country, a song that feels like a warm embrace. Even the strongest, toughest, bravest soldier needs to feel the love, feel the heartbeat, feel the embrace, feel the comfort of a grateful nation and America the Beautiful sung by Ray is that embrace. And like so many here on this page, I always tear up, but it's a good thing.
This is one of the most moving, transcendental, and beautiful renditions of America the beautiful I have ever heard, makes me long for the days when we could just listen to this as Americans and not see each other based on skin color. I rarely ever cry, I am rather stoic and non-emotional by nature, but this makes me cry every time I listen to it. I'm only 24 , I grew up not thinking a second about black or white, and we have fallen so very far as a society in such a short time it is truly sad. The only thing that separates Ray Charles from me biologically is the color of my skin, why does that have to define me, or Ray, or anyone else? If I get cut, my blood is red the same as Ray's is. We don't have to agree with each other on everything, but why can't we just live with each other as human beings and Americans? Why must I be an oppressor instead of your neighbor?
Well the Supreme Court just helped end some of that division with their decision on affirmative action. Now all that's left is for all of the racists to try and help keep all of that division and racial strife alive. Joe Biden's already on top of it. Wow beautiful Ray Charles I love your voice.
No one does it better than Mr. Charles. This is one of my favorite songs. Many thanks.
Even without eyesight, Ray Charles could see the wonder of the United States of America and what it stood for. He was a patriotic America through and through even though he lived through the racism of early 20th century America. I love him and his music.
God has shield his Grace on me America
I'm so grateful for my country
Beautiful song
I listen to America the Beautiful by Ray Charles every year on the 4th of July!!! Happy 4th of July!!!
Yes, same here.
Sing it Ray 🙌🏻🙏🏻💯💥
America has had its troubles, but we have always been a great nation. We have a dream.
Human history presents the United States of America as the first and only governmental system directed by the consensus of the governed. ERRORS? yes 😮💨 Persistent success? OH YEAH! 🤠

This song and Chris Stapleton’s version of our national anthem are the greatest in my opinion! God bless our country!
THIS is Why They Keep Coming. #AmericaTheBeautiful WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER AS One NATION.
My country has its problems but it’s still my country and I will always live it.
No words- just soft tears
Beautiful beyond belief, thank you, Ray!
For all those who were torn from our family, we miss you, for those who gave their best to help those in need, and for those who continue one step at a time, THANK YOU may cowards never win, over your conviction of faith and love of country. This a wonderous tribute, thank you Mr. Ray Charles and your family.
The best rendition of this song, ever.
Very fitting today, GOD Bless America
