Are air dry clay sculptures supposed to be as rough as mine always turn out? Should I use sandpaper or varnish? I would paint mine, but I'm scared to mess up my progress so far..

Yes they are meant to be smooth it all depends on what your wanting. So get the sand paper out and begin. If you take to much off no problem. Air dry clay is so forgiving! Lighty wet the area and the take your knife and ruff it up this will help your new wet clay to adhere. Use a good quality acrylic paint. Test your colors on some dried pieces. See how the color looks. If you like then paint it up. I like using an airbrush but understand many people don't have one. To seal it I use liquidtex matt sealer.

In my own opinion I don't like that brand of clay. To many problems I had. Cernit, femo, kato are three brands I don't have any problems with the clay.

Agree with Barbara...I used Super Sculpey for my first doll and I had nothing but problems.

It's femo soft. I only use it during the winter months, summer is way to soft for me.

I think you said in one of your videos that you are not selling on E-bay anymore. Are you also selling on E-bay? Thanks!
