What a nice gift! Watercolor pencils are a fun, flexible medium for sure! When I was gifted a set of watercolor pencils it turned out to be a game changer for me. It prompted me to take a watercolor pencil class which opened up not just the world of watercolor pencil but expanded my abilities in colored pencil and even watercolor as well. It's such a great medium to bridge the gap between dry and wet media. Thanks for sharing!
Just found you, great channel! I've pushed my watercolor pencils aside for a long time, just use watercolour from the tube. Well, after watching your great videos, I have a lot to catch up on! I'll dust them off & definitely will use them with your teaching. Thank you so much for sharing these lovely paintings with us. Very good. Love from Wales, UK 💖🏴🇬🇧
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am thrilled to have you here! I am glad to know you are able to enjoy using your watercolor pencils again! Enjoy! Blessings, Jessica
This was such a great video. I’ve not seen any of your tutorials before but I subscribed about 10 minutes into watching this one. I’m actually a quilter but I really want to do some art quilts so I must start by learning to draw then to work with watercolor pencils. Lol. Yes, I have a long way to go but I found your video so very helpful. I bought Inktense pencils but just knowing what general color you’re going for is very helpful. I wish you all the best with your channel and thank you for sharing your experience and talent. Renee’ from Mississippi.
Thanks so much for your kind words Renee'! I am thrilled to have you here! Creating an art quilt sounds beautiful and ambitious. Enjoy the journey of creating artwork with your new pencils! I am currently editing some watercolor tutorials but I would love to come up with more watercolor pencil or even beginner-level drawing tutorials soon! Blessings, Jessica PS. Feel free to reach out to me here: sunlitbrushstrokesstudio@gmail.com if you have any specific questions on your drawing/art journey. I'd love to be of help.
Love this great video, already started with one of the flowers. So much fun! I prefer olive green but I also love to add a yellow-green tone for a highlight.
Thanks so much, Larissa! Yes, I agree with you, a light yellow green is another must-have that's perfect for leaf highlights! I am grateful for your feedback on doing more watercolor pencil videos. I am already getting some filming underway!
Olive green is my new 1 and I really prefer the colours to be referred to with their name instead of nr. I have Caran d’Ache so. . . Beautiful result, I will try these!🌸🧡
Thanks so much for your comment. So glad for olive green! I am glad to know the pencil numbers don't matter! I am actually in the middle of producing a watercolor pencil video today...I will switch to using color names for the rest of the filming. It will be much easier!

Thank you for helping me create a junk journal page for an upcoming wedding. My first attempt at following along wasn’t too bad 😂 I love it actually.
Wow! That’s such a creative way to use your wildflower artwork. Thank you so much for sharing your success! 🩷
Such a great informative video. I love my watercolor pencils. I will have to try a few wildflowers in near future.
Thank you for your encouraging words. Yes, watercolor pencils are so versatile!
Liriope muscari or monkey grass? Maybe. Just say you did the top ⅔ and you're good. It worked on my art teacher in high school😂
That’s great, Nicki! Lol! 😂 I never heard of monkey grass before, but I looked it up, and you’re right. That’s what it looks like…
