I’ve one query, in Rmit enrolment process they ask for emergency number and that has to be two different number, indian and Australian sim, however, if I buy Australian sim here (India) then, will it activate here or it will activate later( in Australia) ? Because enrolment process is still on hold and my classes will commence on 22 july, and I’m planning to move in between 16-17th of july.
If you buy an Australian SIM card in India, it will typically activate once you are physically in Australia and insert the SIM card into your phone there. SIM cards usually need to register on the local network, and this registration happens in the country where the network operates. Therefore, your Australian SIM card purchased in India will not be active until you arrive in Australia and use it there. It's a good idea to plan to activate and set up your Australian phone number shortly after your arrival to ensure you have reliable communication for your enrolment and settling in process at RMIT.
