As a 63 year old alum who enjoys seeing what the OU students of today say about the University....I think this was a really honest and fair assessment of OU. I hope those who watch the video will take your comments under advisement. Oh, and I had to chuckle about the dorms. We thought they were rotten when I was there forty something years ago. Great job!!

I know I’m late to this video, but I just got accepted to OU today and I’ve been saying that I’ve wanted to go there for months now. But now it feels so real. I am also from Texas so I’m afraid I won’t get to go cause out of state is so expensive, but I’m praying for some money. I visited back in April and absolutely loved it and felt at home. It is far from home but I think I’ll get over that. I appreciate this video cause I think the food and dorms are not something I’m too worried about considering it’s a big issue at lots of schools, but it’s good to know those are some cons. Well , thanks !
Do it, I love it. You will find other people like you. I was hesitant about it but I know that I made the right decision. I live 30 minutes away in Oklahoma City and I love the drive. OU was my dream school and I still can’t believe I’m there.
Glad to see videos like this about OU! I just reapplied about a week ago as a transfer student, got a late start, but hopefully I get lucky and receive an admission! If not, I look forward to Spring 2022!
I’m touring OU in about a month and as an Okie girl myself i can say that wind is HARSH but you definitely get used to it lol! I’m a sophomore but as someone who is hoping to go to college for Musical Theatre so gotta start early! So thanks for such an informative video
This helped a lot! OU is my dream school -- I am applying this fall. I did notice when I visited the OKC area how comfy Norman was as its own college town not too far from the city.
It's kinda crazy how similar we are, from living 3 hours away in texas, loving the outdoors, to considering the campus's beauty as a pro :))!! thank you for making this video.
This is a very charming city and easy to get to, I hope I can return to visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! Your 97th friend :).

I am not an outdoorsy person, OU has both my desired majors and a double major program, I have family friends and Oklahoma City because it's where I was born, I have very good test scores (for reference, took the ACT before 9th grade and got a 27), I have half my dad's military benefits, and OU has all the activities I want. The only real problem for me would be the heightened homophobia/transphobia of the south, but that stuff happens everywhere. Honestly, I might go here, even if I have to fly there lol (I live in Iowa currently)
I'm thinking of transfer to OU for my sophormore year. I went to the OU campus last week from May 11-13, 2023 becuase my dad graduated and got his masters . Still a freshman since 2021.
Hey i’m going to OU in the fall and am wondering if you know much about sororities and what their communities are like? Or whether greek life is really worth it... lmk!
I highly considered Ole Miss for college and then I heard some things about racism in the campus... I’m just hoping for a sweet sorority that’s pretty diverse as well as fun
I’m thinking of going to their law school. Have you seen it on campus and also have you experienced any tornadoes? How are they and what do you usually do? Im from CA so I don’t really know
hey!! the law school is very beautiful. I've only see it from the outside but maybe you could find pictures on the internet. I have only ever experienced one tornado here. If you live in the dorms they have storm shelters but if you live somewhere else I recommend going to the inner most point of a house away from windows. Maybe under a door frame or in a bathtub! Let me know if you have any other questions!
super informative. kinda thinking about studying abroad for a semester, and OU would be one of my options (and probably my only one if I don't want to learn another language). Atm not really sure if it's worth the effort/money
@@ani4310 Although in theory I still have some time left to study a semester abroad, I probably won't do it. It's too expensive for me, and OU doesn't really have anything to offer compared to my "home" university regarding my major. So in the end I would only do it for the experience of studying abroad, which I can't really afford atm.
Hello. I want to ask a question about the climate in Norman. Can you tell me about the winter in University of Oklahoma? (Freezing cold, really cold, cold, mild cold). Also since you highlighted about wind, I want to know, whether your nose and nostrils get triggered when the normal wind hits your nose? I'm asking these 2 questions because I cannot breathe when the air is cold or cold wind hits my nose. Thanks.

The teaching is great, I just recommend looking at rate my professor before enrolling in classes. I would say that the campus is not homophobic and there are a lot ally and inclusion trainings that are available to students. Sadly, there are going to people everywhere you go that want to knock you down, but I encourage you to continue to stand tall. The dorms aren't health hazards but aren't the best to live in, the worst one is getting torn down so it's not much of a problem.
