My Grandfather was from Corner Brook. My dad and I visited Newfoundland a little over a year ago and road tripped from St. John's to Corner Brook and it was really cool. Spent the rest of the week in St. John's and even caught a Growlers game. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing! I'm making another trip to the west coast later this year and I plan to explore more of the Gros Morne area. I ran out of time and missed Woody Point (and the whole Tablelands area) on my last trip to the park in 2022. Can't wait to see it this year!
@@mark_royle_newfoundland Fantastic! Take a walk along Water Street and you’ll be strolling amongst my family. My grandfather started the library, E.L. Roberts ❤️
FYI Mark My grandfather and his brothers and sisters hacked out the first run for Marble Mountain. I am one of few newfs with Norwegian blood. It's called the Hansen run! My Norwegian family originate from Trondheim. He is in the Newfoundland Sports Hall of Fame. He missed skiing and always said that Corner Brook reminded him of where he grew up.
I grew up in Stephenville and moved to Mount Pearl as a teen. The entire west coast corridor from Port aux Basques, up to deer lake, and on through to gros morne needs immigration and the province will benefit as a whole if they don’t all wind up in St. John’s. If you’re unfamiliar with the west coast visit Stephenville as well. Underrated town that many townies don’t see since it’s off the highway. Corner Brook gets a lot of the attention for west coast image, and also Deer Lake because of Gros Morne but Stephenville area (bay st George/port au port peninsula) has its very own vibe within this island.
@@ryantwitter343 I love Stephenville. Visited a couple of times last year and talked about it little bit in my last video. I really hope at least one of the big things being talked about for that town sees the light of day.
I always appreciate your comments. No arguments from me on this one. I didn’t realize how special the west coast actually is until I finally experienced it for myself.
Another video where I chat about western Newfoundland: ua-cam.com/video/Q-t-I2KaRLE/v-deo.html

Always love seeing videos of home. My family homestead is Woody Point. 🥰

That’s awesome 😊😊
Next time you come out this way we need to meet up.
Absolutely my buddy!
Newfoundland needs a developed west coast to survive.
Yup. We might get an idea of what a developed west coast could look like sometime this year
