This is absolutely amazing. Just got this machine on a whim to make hammocks for rats and have no idea what I'm doing and this is just like sitting down with a private instructor. Thank you so much
I received my new brother cs5055 today and your videos have been so helpful in learning how to use my new machine! I am very new to sewing so it can be intimidating to start but your guidance has made it super cool. Thank you!!
I am getting this machine tomorrow! I bought it after watching a ton of your videos. I am so excited and feel like I am well prepared and picked a good machine.
I really appreciate the good instructions. I'm 76 years old and have not sewn since my daughters were little, who are now in their fifties. So I really need this tutorial especially with the changes in the sewing machines than they were back in the seventies.
I have this machine for over 3 years and now thanks to you I am mastering it’s stitches! LOL!!! Thanks! I will be sure to keep watching your videos! 😊❤
MOMMA! youre amazing. THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THIS GIFT, your voice is amazing and you are such an intuitive teacher! thank you thank you thank you 😍🥰💯❤️
Thank you so much for your videos on this machine! I was very intimidated to start and the manual certainly did not help with that! But you explained everything so simply! This is exactly what I needed, step-by-step instructions and someone to show me what to do. Thank you!!! I am so excited now. As an artist, this opens up a whole new world of possibilities! I hope you will do more videos about this machine, such as how to change the foot so we can learn how to use some of the fancier stitches. :)
You are so welcome! I'm so glad this helped you out :) I do plan on more videos. I'll be out for summer break soon and hope to have time for lots of filming!
Thank you for these videos. I have watched, saved, and liked all four available so far! The manual was less understandable, and I found the written instructions rather intimidating as there were so many warnings! (Better do it right or everything will go to heck!) Your videos show that this machine is actually quite easy to use. Now I can attempt my first use of my new machine with more confidence! ☺️
Love your videos. I haven’t been able to find an answer to this question. Can I save a zig zag setting when I turn off my Brother ? Will it always revert to straight stitch when I turn it back on ? Thanks 🧵
It reverts to straight stitch 🙁I usually make a note of settings before I turn off the machine so I can get back to where I was. Thats one of the few things I don’t like about a computerized machine
These are such helpful videos! I just got a CS5055 this week, and am trying to sew hems on some jeans. I like that 02 stitch that you suggest for jean hems, but wonder if I should adjust the tension? The top thread keeps breaking. It's on 4 right now. Is 3 mean more or less tension? Also, the bobbin thread bunches up on the underside of the fabric. What's that about and how can I avoid that? Thanks for your help!😊
A mess of thread on the bottom usually means a tension problem from the top thread. Unthread and carefully rethread, making sure you have the presser foot raised until you get ready to thread the needle. A 3 is less tension than a 4. Try sewing on just some regular fabric and see if you have the same problem. Jeans hems are a bit of a challenge because it’s harder to feed evenly, Hope that helps!
It's a tricky one for sure, lol. There's a hook on the left side at the top and 2 'prongs' on the right side that all have to fit into their slots. Place it about 1/4" from where it needs to be, then slide to the right checking to be sure the hook and the 2 prongs are all aligned. Hope that helps!
Thank you for showing the three stitches. I have three questions: 1. Why is there a stitch 01 when it does exactly the same thing as the 00 stitch? 2. Why does your CS5055 look different from my machine CS5055PRW? I am assuming the PRW suffix is where the difference lies. 3. How do you align the fold of the fabric when you want the stitch to be 1/8 inch from the fold? I am looking forward to going through your playlist.
00 has the needle in the left position, 01 has a center position for the needle. PRW is a Project Runway edition. Seems to have a few more bells and whistles. For a 1/8 seam allowance, I would take a ruler and align it with the needle, measure 1/8 inch out and mark it with a small piece of tape.
I just opened my machine and sewed a few test strips. The bottom stitches are a bit loose. I haven’t messed with the tension at all. Any ideas what I should do?
Tangles on the bottom usually mean problems with upper threading. I would take thread completely out and rethread. It may not been seated in the tension discs well. And also try a different brand of thread. Sometimes my machine has fits with one brand but sews beautifully with another. Hope that helps!
Why is my fabric not moving? I have to pull it and it ruins the stitch. I can't find anything to troubleshoot this. I have never used a machine this high tech before and I am really struggling just getting a stitch.

Wonderful! I'm so glad they were helpful :) I'm hoping to get many more uploaded this summer!
Wonderful idea of paper under the needle and over the hole.
Can you tell I’ve chased a dropped needle several times 😂?
Thank you for this video is the same as my cs7000x

@@momdoesstuff Thanks! It took a bit of practice, but your tips helped a lot!☺‼
Great videos. You have really helped me. The one thing I'm having trouble with is that I can't get the front storage "flatbed" back on. Can you help?

Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Super helpful!
Yay! Have fun!
Much appreciated!
Can you do a hidden stitch with the sewing machine or only by hand? Sorry my aunt got me one for Christmas and I’m learning how to use it
Hola.Mi maquina cose las puntadas decorativas en el reves fe la tela😵💫
Wheewww, I'm ready!!
Yay! I'm pulling for ya'!
Thanks!!
I just opened my machine and sewed a few test strips. The bottom stitches are a bit loose. I haven’t messed with the tension at all. Any ideas what I should do?
Loose on the bottom usually means top tension is loose. Tighten up a bit and see if it helps. You can always turn it back down.
hey could you do a problem solving video? no matter what i do the thread gets all tangled at the bottom near the bobbin. i can’t figure it out
Tangles on the bottom usually mean problems with upper threading. I would take thread completely out and rethread. It may not been seated in the tension discs well. And also try a different brand of thread. Sometimes my machine has fits with one brand but sews beautifully with another. Hope that helps!
Looking for the zigzag stitches😁
What a great idea! I'll see if I can get one done soon!
