  • Here is an intuitive attempt at showing you how come a 1/3 is in the formula of a Cone. I do make the assumption that you are familiar with the formula of a pyramid!

You explain well but too many commercials at inappropriate times just where one needs to pay attention to understand what you are trying to communicate, and that makes all your efforts of making such great videos useless.

Hi! This is great feedback. UA-cam puts in the commercials, but I will check if I can adjust where they appear. The goal of the videos is to help and understand a topic and not to throw in commercials. Ultimately, free content that UA-cam posts, they will want to monetize in some way. Sorry about that. I do hope that you at least understood the explanation in the video. Thank you for your message!

Your explaination about the pyramid volume was understandable as far as we are dividing a cube into 6 pyramids, so the height of the pyramid is two times smaller than the the base side, but in this video you made the height of pyramid the same as the base side length wich if we added the 5 left pyramids we will get a rectangular solid and the pyramids are actually equal but 4 of them on the sides are different wich is a bit confusing

Hi! Based on your comment it looks like you are referring to the derivation of the pyramid video and not this one. For the pyramid if you want to understand the general proof you would have to look at that video. I did make it and reference it in this video (see description). The idea is once you are convinced that a pyramid has a 1/3 in front of the formula then this video just shows the extension where the base instead of a polygon is a circle. Please do watch the general proof for the pyramid. It is a little lengthy, but I do go into the full detail of the derivation with no calculus.

i like the idea of using limits to understand that the cone situation is just an extension of pyramid (did i get it right by saying this?). thanks !

Yes, what you said is correct indeed with regards to the limit. Happy learning! I’m glad you like the desmos visualization. Cheers!

Hi. I'm not sure if you are referring to half a sphere at the top of a building or something else. Happy learning.
